125 years after the publication of its inaugural issue, "The Journal of Presbyterian History" has gone through a metamorphosis, emerging with a new name and fresh focus. With the Spring/Summer 2026 issue, "The Journal of Presbyterian History" became "Waymarks: Presbyterian and Reformed History for Today." Kris and I had orientation in Louisville a few weeks ago- a lot to take in and wonderful people to get to know or get to know better. The best part was asking our colleagues in ministry “How can we pray for you?” The Spirit is moving among us all.

Columbia Theological Seminary announced Monday that President Victor Aloyo, Jr. will retire effective December 31, 2026, concluding his tenure of dedicated leadership and service to the seminary community.

In his fifth year as president, Dr. Aloyo has served as Columbia's first president of color in its 198-year history and the first Latine president among the PC(USA)'s related theological institutions. His retirement marks the culmination of more than 45 years of distinguished service in congregational pastoral ministry and higher theological education.
