PCUSA Global Ministry

PCUSA Global Ministry The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) works globally to address critical issues such as poverty, injustice and peacemaking. Our mission is centered in the triune God.

Learn how to support global ecumenical liaisons, explore worldwide partnerships, and join efforts to bring hope to communities in need. As disciples of Jesus Christ, each of us is sent into the world to join God's mission. As individuals and as a church, we are called to be faithful in this discipleship. Our mission is God-called, Christ-centered and Spirit-led. Our mission is both proclamation an

d service; it is the reason the church exists. When we enter into mission we cross borders — geographical, socioeconomic and cultural. As Presbyterians, we cross these borders by engaging in God's mission through partnership. In partnership, we are made one by the saving love of God in Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. The "where" and "how" and "with whom" of mission is God's initiative, sovereign action and redeeming grace. The message we are called to bear is the Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ. We do this by making disciples, demonstrating God's love through worship, fellowship, prayer and service with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and by participating in God's activity in the world through acts of compassion and justice.

More than 120 donors across the Presbytery of San José have given more than $30,000 to fund legal counsel for immigrants facing deportation. Their giving has also unlocked $15,000 in matching funds from the former Peace and Global Witness Offering and related special funds — $7,5000 for each of two regional partner organizations, contingent on the partners together meeting a combined fundraising threshold. In May 2026, a transnational delegation of migrant-led and immigration advocacy leaders that included Global Ecumenical Liaisons, their colleagues from Presbyterian Life & Witness, and global partners gathered in New York for the United Nations’ International Migration Review Forum 2026.

Throughout their week in New York, the delegation attended formal meetings at the United Nations and participated in side events hosted by non-governmental organizations. They also took time to share how their faith guides them in their work for migrant justice.

This week Congress begins its work on the Pentagon budget. This year's budget requests an unconscionable $1.15T for endless war, wasteful projects, and massive giveaways to weapons contractors. Like last year, Congress plans to pay for it with cuts to programs that help everyday Americans and the global poor afford food, childcare, education, and healthcare.

This immoral, reckless budget contradicts Christ’s call for peacemaking and care. Contact Congress today NO on the proposed Pentagon budget and instead follow Christ’s teachings by investing in the poor and vulnerable at home and abroad.

Use the link in the comments to find out more and, by June 4th, easily email your Members of Congress. Or call 202-224-3121 and ask to be connected to your Members of Congress.

A clinic operated by the Jinishian Memorial Association of Lebanon is making a difference in the lives of vulnerable people affected by regional conflict and economic pressures in the Middle Eastern country.

May is Asian and Pacific Islander American Heritage Month, a time for recognizing the contributions and influence of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States.

This photograph lives in RG 173, the William M. Baird Papers. Rev. Baird and his wife, Annie Laurie Adams Baird, were appointed to the Chosen (Korea) Mission in 1890 by the Board of Foreign Missions of the PC(USA). In 1897, Baird was appointed president of the Pyongyang Academy and Union Christian College, a position that he held until his death in 1931.

In the middle of the frame stands Pastor Kim Ik Du, shown with a group of churchgoers who'd attended his evangelistic meetings. Pastor Kim served as moderator/president of the 9th General Assembly of the Korean Presbyterian Church in 1920; from then on till World War II, he was probably the most outstanding man in the Korean Presbyterian Church. The pastor of South Gate Church in Seoul, Kim spent his twenties and thirties traveling across Korea, as he was in constant demand to lead evangelistic meetings.

At the end of World War II, Pastor Kim remained, continuing to lead from his pulpit and beyond. In the early morning of October 14, 1950, at the age of 75, he was shot and killed by North Korean troops. Today, we remember Pastor Kim Ik Du and his devotion to serving the Korean peninsula during a time of unrest and strife. We remember his commitment to his faith, and take this moment to lift up his legacy.
