Greentree Community Church

Greentree Community Church Welcome to the Greentree Community Church page. Greentree Community Church, for many, is not only their spiritual family, but also their only family.

We are not perfect people, but we are open to the Holy Spirit showing us and teaching us the way He wants us to change and grow. Greentree Community Church is comprised of sinners and saints who are dependent on the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. Spurred on by a love for Jesus Christ and for each other, we desire to be a church that welcomes and invites people to

investigate the claims of Christ and to "know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that they too may be filled with all the fullness of God." For over 17 years, we enjoyed a partnership with the Kirkwood School District and spent our Sunday mornings at North Kirkwood Middle School with occasional jaunts to other Kirkwood schools. In 2012, we purchased land at 100 Kirkwood Place and celebrated our first Sunday in our new worship home on October 4, 2015. We are grateful to be able to call Kirkwood our home, put down permanent roots in this community and continue to find ways to love our neighbors. Please drop by and join us on a Sunday morning at 100 Kirkwood Place at 9:00 am or 10:30 am. We enjoy a contemporary style of worship and a casual style of dress.

This Labor Day weekend, we’ll gather for a special family worship service! 🙌 It’s an opportunity for children and students to worship alongside our entire congregation. It also gives our amazing Children’s and Student Ministry volunteers a break.

Childcare for infants and toddlers will still be available during the 9 a.m. service.

And because of the holiday weekend, our next Newcomers’ Coffee will be Sunday, October 4 at 10 a.m.

"I don’t know what to say." We’ve all had moments when someone’s pain leaves us silent — unsure how to help, unsure what to say. Starting this Sunday, Stephen Ministry at Greentree is offering a five‑week Sunday School series that teaches practical, proven skills for walking alongside people in need. Sessions run Sundays at 10:30 AM in Room L020 from August 30 through September 27.

Happening THIS SUNDAY!

Our missions partners from Kolkata (Calcutta), India are joining us at church Sunday morning! The Daisy Project serves children and families living in the city’s slums and on its streets. They’ll have a table in the atrium and would love to talk with you and share more about the children Greentree directly supports: Apurbo and Dishani.

At 2 p.m. on Sunday, Women of Welcome will host guest speaker Molly Kammien. She is an immigration lawyer who has worked with unaccompanied minor immigrant children for more than five years. Come through the front doors when you arrive, and you’ll see where to find us!

And last but not least, this Sunday is the Student Ministry Fall Kickoff! Students and families are invited to dinner on the Student Patio by the back parking lot at 6:30 p.m. Besides dinner, there will be games and time for students and their families to get to know this year’s Student Ministry leaders. We can’t wait to see you!

“And Paul went in, as was his custom, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures, explaining and proving that it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead, and saying, ‘This Jesus, whom I proclaim to you, is the Christ’ … Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.” — Acts 17:2–3, 11

You can watch the entire sermon on Acts 17 right now on YouTube. The link to our channel is in our bio!

If you can’t make it in person to our 9 and 10:30 a.m. services on Sunday, you can always join our 9 a.m. livestream on Facebook or YouTube.
