Our coworkers treated us to our annual luncheon on Thursday. The delicious meal is always followed by a few games. Somes years they are really wild--this year they were fairly tame. The whole event is always a surprise for us!🙂

Please join us in praying for the repose of the soul of our beloved Sister Agnes Murray who was born into eternal life on May 23, 2026. Also known as Sister Patricia, she was 94 years old and living at St. Andrew’s at Francis Place in Eureka, Missouri.

The daughter of Thomas and Delia Lennon Murray, she was born on July 2, 1931, in County Roscommon, Ireland. She entered the Ursuline community on March 16, 1950, and professed her vows on Sept. 16, 1952. She received a bachelor’s degree in education from Incarnate Word College.

Sister Agnes taught primary and elementary grades in schools throughout the Central Province and beyond, spending many years of ministry in Texas. In Laredo, she taught at St. Peter’s Memorial School from 1952-53 and 1961-64; Ursuline Academy from 1953-55, 1968-70,1982-83 and 1988-90; Our Lady of Guadalupe School from 1955-58 and St. Augustin Elementary School from 1990-95. She taught in the Laredo public school district from 1983-87 and 1995-96.

She also taught at Sacred Heart School in Falfurrias, Texas, from 1958-61; Ste. Marie du Lac School in Ironton, Missouri, from 1966-67, St. Patrick Catholic School in Galveston, Texas, from 1970-75 and 1979-81; and Little Flower School in San Antonio from 1996-97. She taught at Ursuline School in Sligo, Ireland from 1975-76 and volunteered at St. Joseph School in Springfield, Illinois, from 2001-14.

Arrangements are pending.

The Ursuline Academy of San Antonio Class of '66 held its 60th reunion late last month, joined by Sisters Maria Teresa de Llano, Elizabeth Susan Hatzenbuehler and Karen Schwane. A meal was served in the Club Giraud, the grand dining room on the property of the old Ursuline Academy in the downtown area. Afterward they were given a tour of the grounds and the museum, which is only available online now under the new owners, the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Co-workers at our Central Province offices in St. Louis spent Thursday in prayer, reflection, sharing of memories--and gratitude for the beauty of God's creation--at our former novitiate in Crystal City. We are grateful to the property's new owners, Rick and Linda Casey, for welcoming us "home" for this year's staff retreat.
