Can prayer truly make a difference in our world, in our city, and in our own hearts? Join us at KUMC for Prayers of Resistance, a monthly gathering where we explore prayer as a powerful tool to interrupt habits of hate, neglect, and division.

Each month, we will focus on a specific theme—digging into its impact on our lives and community, and challenging ourselves to turn our prayers into active justice. Together, we’ll hold space for song, silence, and prayer as a source of hope, renewal, and healing. We come together to PRAY: Pause, Resist, Accept, and Yearn.

September’s theme is Love Your Enemies
Luke 6:27-28. Join us on September 13 at 7:00 in the Chapel.

Hands on Kirkwood is a one-day MissionALL blitz designed to connect volunteers with meaningful service projects across the Kirkwood community. It is a powerful day of neighbors helping neighbors, and there are several ways you can participate and make a difference.

You can sign up for a variety of volunteer projects directly at https://www.handsonkirkwood.org/get-involved. Additionally, we are collecting new or gently used toys in the Hands on Kirkwood collection box near the Connection Center, which will stock the Clothing and Toy Shop on October 3.

Join us at KUMC on Monday, September 28, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM for a family fellowship night. Bring a packed dinner, connect with others, and help us walk the neighborhood streets to distribute food collection bags ahead of the main event.

Five years ago, LifeBridge began with a core belief: lasting change happens when we walk alongside our neighbors for the long term.

Since offering its first financial education class in October 2021 and opening the LifeBridge Market the following spring, the organization has continued to grow while staying true to its purpose: partnering with individuals to transform their lives and break cycles of poverty.

To mark this milestone, supporters are invited to celebrate and get involved in two ways:

1. Join the Birthday Celebration and Packing Event Celebrate after service on Sunday, September 20 (10:00–10:30 AM and 11:30 AM–12:00 PM). Enjoy cake in the Lounge, then head to the hallway to assemble birthday kits for LifeBridge Market shoppers. Honoring LifeBridge's fifth birthday helps ensure every program participant can celebrate theirs, too.

2. Double Your Impact With a Matching Gift Consider making a special fifth-birthday gift of $55, $155, or $555 to help keep this momentum going. Thanks to a generous anonymous donor, every contribution will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $5,000, doubling the impact of each gift.

Thank you to everyone who has played a role in this story and continues to help build what comes next. Learn more and donate online today: https://secure.givelively.org/donate/lifebridge-ministries/lifebridge-is-turning-5
