Wellington District Self-Reflection Session

on Balance

The Wellington District held its self-reflection session on Tuesday evening, 9 June 2026, at the Newton and Tulbagh congregations.

The focus of the session was “Me and My Balance.”
The topic was received with great enthusiasm, and active participation characterized the session throughout.

Office bearers had the opportunity to engage in deep introspection and realized that maintaining a healthy balance between family, career, and the work of the LORD is of vital importance.

ISession 5A will be followed by the next Rector’s Session, namely Session 5B, where the topic will be addressed further at congregational level.

The session provided valuable insights and learned us thhe importance of intentional balance in the life and ministry .

What a blessed and enjoyable day with our final-year confirmands and young people! 🌟

The day started with a fun walk, followed by warm soup and an insightful onboarding session focusing on Ministry. Our Bible verse for the day was 1 Corinthians 12:4–6, reminding us that although there are different gifts, ministries, and activities, it is the same God who works in all of us.

Meaningful discussions were held on how young people can support and assist our ministers in God's work. It was especially encouraging to hear the enthusiasm of some young people who expressed their desire to one day serve as ministers themselves.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making the day both enjoyable and enriching. May the seeds planted today continue to grow in faith, service, and love for God's work. 🙏✨

"There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all." – 1 Corinthians 12:4–6

“The Kingdom of God and His Righteousness”

On Sunday, 03 May 2026, Del Justin Brockman conducted the Young People Divine Service in Tulbagh Congregation ,Wellington District .
He was accompanied by the Minsters of the District.

A warm and uplifting atmosphere filled the church as the young people gathered in anticipation of receiving God’s word. A spirit of unity and reverence was clearly felt, setting the tone for a blessed and meaningful service.

The Bible text used as the basis for the sermon was taken from Matthew 6:33:

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

A special Bible reading was read by Deacon Lionel Verrooi from Matthew 6:19–34.

Message:
Let us strive for fellowship with Jesus Christ and for justice among ourselves.

During the divine service, Deacon Melissa Kroutz & Deacon Devon Gertse was called upon to serve.

Word Summary:
■ Disciples of Jesus put their trust in God’s faithfulness and care, and do not allow their hearts to be dominated by worries.
■ Disciples of Christ make it their priority to seek the kingdom of God; that is, they pursue fellowship with Jesus and eternal life above everything else.
■ Striving for justice is part of what it means to follow Christ. God practices justice, and disciples of Jesus should also stand up for justice.

The choir concluded the divine service with a powerful rendition of HC300, Thee God praise we bring.
Thereafter, Del Justin Brockman greeted those in attendance, allowing the young people to interact and spend time together in fellowship and short presentation.
