𝐎𝐥𝐝 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐎𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐚 𝐇𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬

On Friday evening, 29 May 2026, the Young People of the Protea Heights congregation gathered to clean the church during their monthly duty week.

Cleaning and caring for the House of the Lord has been a longstanding tradition in the New Apostolic Church, and it was special to see the young people continue this with such willing hearts.

The evening was filled with fun conversations, laughter, and above all, Young People Serving Christ together in His House.

The divine service was conducted by 𝑹𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓 Clint Beech. The focus of the service: Peace be with you. The message emphasised that an encounter with the Risen One brings peace and security.

The congregation also had the joy of witnessing the 50th wedding anniversary blessing of the Ehlers couple a remarkable milestone and a beautiful testament to enduring love.

The divine service was conducted by 𝑹𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓 Clint Beech, with CEV Carelsen called up to assist. The focus of the service: Encounter with the risen Jesus.

The message emphasised that the resurrection is central to our faith.

After the divine service, the Sunday School children enjoyed a Easter egg hunt. ✨🙏🏽

Good Friday, 3 April 2026

It is finished!

Protea Heights Congregation experienced a most blessed Good Friday Service. The divine service was conducted by Congregation Rector, Priest Clint Beech, with Priest Mervyn Oliver called upon to assist.

Bible text: John 19:30
“When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.”

Bible reading: Mark 15:22-39

Message: Jesus Christ sacrificed His life for all of humankind both living and dead to allow us to have perfect fellowship with God.

Summary:

■ Jesus’ path to the cross was not a series of coincidences, but a necessity in salvation history.
■ The Son of God became human in order to save humankind from eternal death through His own death.
■ Jesus’ sacrificial death marks the beginning of a new era in salvation history: the new covenant.
■ Jesus’ sacrifice is equally valid for the living and the dead.

“𝑩𝒖𝒕 𝑰 𝒔𝒂𝒚 𝒕𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖, 𝑰 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒅𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒌 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒇𝒓𝒖𝒊𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒐𝒏 𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝑰 𝒅𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒌 𝒊𝒕 𝒏𝒆𝒘 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒊𝒏 𝑴𝒚 𝑭𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓’𝒔 𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒅𝒐𝒎.”

The divine service was led by District Rector Joe Bronkhorst, with Priest Clint Beech called upon to assist. The focus of the service was the institution of the Lord’s Supper.

The message highlighted that Holy Communion is a meal of remembrance, reflecting on the suffering of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of our sins.

As we prepare for the upcoming Passion Week, Protea Heights also had the joy of welcoming our new District Rector, along with the district coordinators and Rectors of the Durbanville District.
