From Genesis to Revelation: God's Plan from Beginning to Eternity.♾️

Notice how beautifully Scripture closes the circle

Genesis 1: Heaven and earth created.
Revelation 21: New heaven and earth.

Genesis 1: Darkness exists.
Revelation 22: No more night.

Genesis 2: Tree of Life.
Revelation 22: Tree of Life.

Genesis 2: River in Eden.
Revelation 22: River of Life.

Genesis 2: Bride presented.
Revelation 19: Bride presented.

Genesis 3: Serpent enters.
Revelation 20: Serpent defeated.

Genesis 3: Curse begins.
Revelation 22: No more curse.

Genesis 3: Death begins.
Revelation 21: No more death.

Genesis 3: Humanity leaves God's presence.
Revelation 21: God dwells with humanity.

Genesis 3: Paradise lost.
Revelation 22: Paradise restored.

The Bible's story in one sentence

What was created in Genesis, corrupted through sin, and redeemed through Christ is finally and completely restored in Revelation.

Or even shorter:

Genesis begins with creation.
Revelation ends with new creation.
Between them stands the Cross. ✝

The Tree of Life 🌳

This may be my favorite Genesis & Revelation connection.

Genesis 2:9

The Tree of Life stands in Eden.

Genesis 3:24

After humanity sins, access to it is guarded. ⛔️

Humanity cannot return to Eden by its own efforts.

But then we reach the final chapter of Scripture.

Revelation 22:2

The Tree of Life appears again.🌳

And Revelation 22:14 describes God's redeemed people receiving access to it. 👐🏻

What humanity lost through Adam, God ultimately restores through Christ. ✝

The Bride in Genesis and Revelation 👰🏽

The Bible also begins and ends with a wedding.

Genesis 2

Adam receives his bride.

Genesis 2:22: God brings the woman to the man.👨👩

Revelation 19

Christ receives His Bride. ♂✝♀

Revelation 19:7:
“The marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.”

And Revelation 21:2 describes the New Jerusalem:

“prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” (This applies to all of Mankind)

So Scripture moves from:

First Adam + Bride

to

Christ, the Last Adam + His redeemed Bride.

Abraham, Isaac and the Lamb 🐏

Genesis 22 contains one of Scripture's strongest pictures pointing forward to God's provision of sacrifice.

Isaac asks:

“Where is the lamb?” 🐏 Genesis 22:7

Abraham responds that God Himself will provide the sacrifice.

Move through Scripture and John the Baptist announces:

“Behold, the Lamb of God…” ✝ John 1:29

Then Revelation repeatedly presents Jesus as the Lamb.

Revelation 5:12:
“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain…”

There is a beautiful biblical progression:📖

Genesis 22 Where is the lamb?
↓
John 1 Behold the Lamb!
↓
Revelation 5 Worthy is the Lamb!

Abraham's promise → The multitude in Revelation

God tells Abraham:✨

Genesis 12:3:
All the families of the earth will be blessed through him.

Later God promises descendants beyond counting.👨‍👩‍👧‍👦👩‍👧‍👦👩‍👦‍👦👩‍👧‍👦👩‍👦‍👦

Then look at John's vision:💭

Revelation 7:9

He sees a great multitude that nobody can number, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and the Lamb.

Genesis contains the promise. 🙏

Revelation shows the harvest. 🌾

Babel and Babylon 🏯

This is another fascinating connection.

Genesis 11 🧐 Babel

Humanity says:

“Let us make a name for ourselves.” Genesis 11:4

Babel represents humanity attempting greatness, security and unity apart from God. 😈

God judges Babel and scatters the nations.

Revelation 17–18 🧐Babylon

By Revelation, Babylon has become a powerful biblical symbol of a rebellious world system opposed to God.

Then comes the announcement:

“Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great!” Revelation 18:2

What begins at Babel in Genesis reaches its judgment in Babylon in Revelation.

One of the greatest connections: 📶
Genesis 3:15 to Revelation 20

After the Fall, God says to the serpent: 🐍

Genesis 3:15 introduces a coming conflict between the serpent and the woman's offspring. Christians have historically seen this as the Bible's earliest anticipation of Christ's victory.

Then Revelation identifies Satan as: 😈

“that ancient serpent,” Revelation 12:9.

That wording deliberately takes us back toward Genesis.

Finally: 🔚

Revelation 20:10 ,the devil is defeated permanently.

So we have:

Genesis 3:15 ✌🏼 Victory promised.
The Cross ✝ Victory accomplished.
Revelation 20 Victory finally manifested and Satan removed forever.🙏
