Organized in 1877, the District of Columbia Baptist Convention (DCBC) consists of more than 150 churches in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia working to have a bold, Christ-centered and spiritually transformational impact on the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Our churches vary in size, worship styles and ministry activities but each one is committed to building God's kingdom in

our community, nation and world. DCBC is committed to strengthening our member churches to advance God's kingdom. We strive to support our member churches by providing ministry resources and opportunities for networking, fellowship, corporate worship and training, as well as by undergirding their programs and activities. In addition, the Convention seeks to inspire courageous, missional engagement amongst member congregations, organizations, entities, groups and individuals committed to our values and the fulfillment of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20) in the spirit of the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:36-40).

This week, the DCBC joins the Baptist World Alliance in prayer for the nations of Antigua & Barbuda, the Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Belize, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Grenada. As part of the global Baptist family, DCBC is grateful for the faithful ministries, churches, and believers serving throughout these nations and sharing the love of Christ in their communities.

DCBC invites its churches, pastors, and partners to lift these countries in prayer, asking God to strengthen His Church, empower believers for faithful Gospel witness, and bring peace, hope, and transformation to the people they serve. May God's presence be evident in every congregation and community as His work continues throughout the Caribbean region.

As part of her sabbatical journey, Rev. Dr. Trisha Miller Manarin, DCBC's Executive Director/Minister, recently visited MVP School and had the opportunity to spend time with Molly and Eliberto Juarez, pictured in green, along with MVP teacher Wilman, pictured in black.

These meaningful connections continue to be a special part of Rev. Dr. Manarin's travels, offering opportunities to learn, listen, and experience the impact of education and community firsthand. We are grateful for the relationships being built and the stories being shared along the way. Please continue to keep Rev. Dr. Manarin in your prayers as she enjoys this season of renewal, reflection, and discovery during her sabbatical.

Maybe this is the month you stop carrying what God never asked you to carry.

The pressure to have all the answers. The worry about what comes next. The weight of things you cannot change. June is a good reminder that faith is not about having everything figured out—it's about trusting the One who does.

As we step into a new month, may we choose peace over panic, gratitude over frustration, and faith over fear. God has been faithful through every season behind us, and He will be faithful in the days ahead.

Welcome, June. We're ready for whatever God has in store.

Conflict is a part of ministry, but how we respond to it can make all the difference. Sometimes the real issues run deeper than what we see on the surface, challenging us to reflect on leadership, relationships, and the ways we serve together.

This conversation from Baptist Women in Ministry offers a thoughtful look at how power and authority can influence conflict within our churches and organizations. We invite you to take a listen and consider how these insights might strengthen your own leadership and ministry.

When power isn’t examined, conflict often escalates. When it is named honestly, conflict can become a moment for growth.

This episode invites church leaders to look beneath the surface of disagreement and consider how structures, roles, and authority shape the outcomes.

During her sabbatical, DCBC Executive Director/Minister Rev. Dr. Trisha Miller Manarin recently shared photos from a heartfelt church visit alongside her English teachers, Lily and Balmore, and Pastor Mata, pictured in the maroon shirt. Moments like these are a beautiful reminder that even across different cultures and places, the love of Christ continues to bring people together in meaningful and lasting ways.

As Rev. Dr. Manarin continues this season of rest, reflection, and renewal, we are grateful for the glimpses she has shared along the way. From worship experiences to new friendships and conversations rooted in faith, her journey continues to reflect the joy of connection and the reminder that God’s presence truly reaches far beyond any one place or community.
