As Scripture reminds us, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” - Colossians 3:23 May this day bring you well-deserved rest, renewed strength, and gratitude for the many ways God uses our work to bless others.

Whether you're a church with projects to complete or someone navigating a career transition, Connecting Us is here to help.

DCBC's Connecting Us: Uniting Support for Workers in Transition connects churches with skilled individuals seeking meaningful work and support. Participants can earn income through paid church projects while receiving career coaching, bi-monthly virtual support, and one-on-one spiritual direction. Churches may receive assistance with up to three projects, and DCBC will cover up to 40% of approved project costs, making it easier to complete important ministry work.
Rev. Dr. Robin Apparicio works directly with churches and participants to create the best possible matches.

💚 September is Su***de Prevention Month.

As people of faith, we are called to care for one another - not only in moments of celebration, but also in the quiet, difficult seasons when someone may be carrying more than we know.

Scripture reminds us, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” - Psalm 34:18

This month, let’s be intentional. Check on someone. Listen without judgment. Pray with them. Encourage them. Be present. And remind those who are struggling that seeking help is not a lack of faith.

You are not alone. There is hope. There is help. And there is a God who sees, hears, and cares. 💚

DCBC Trustee Training Is Here!

The DC Baptist Convention invites church trustees to join its virtual Trustee Training on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 10:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. ET via Zoom.

Trustees serve an important role as “Keepers of God’s House.” This practical training will cover trustee roles and responsibilities, confidentiality and conflict-of-interest policies, reporting requirements, church documents, facility oversight and safety, and ways to proactively address legal liabilities.

Participants will also receive ready-to-use resources and templates to take back to their churches.

DCBC is now collecting 2026 Annual Church Reports from our member congregations. Your report helps us keep church and leadership information current, maintain accurate directories and records, support strategic planning, and better understand and serve the needs of our DCBC family.

The report takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. We ask each member congregation to submit its 2026 report as soon as possible.

As we prepare for our 149th Annual Gathering of Churches, we’ll pray for our upcoming Prayer Walks, our churches and communities, our nation, and people around the world facing devastation, loss, and uncertainty. In times like these, we are reminded of the power of coming together as one body to seek God, encourage one another, and stand in the gap for others.

🍂 Hello, September!

A new month is here, and we’re simply grateful for the faithfulness of God.

As we enter September, may we remember that through every season - the good days, the difficult days, and everything in between - God remains faithful.
