The story of the United States includes remarkable achievements in technology, industry, and commerce—advances that have transformed daily life and expanded human possibility.

This message from the Bahá’ís of the United States invites reflection on a question that remains before us: how can the benefits of human progress be shared more broadly so that all people have the opportunity to flourish?

As we consider the future we hope to build together, it encourages thoughtful conversations about prosperity, justice, and our shared responsibility for the well-being of one another.

We were delighted to co-host a Soul Boom podcast taping live in Washington DC with Rainn Wilson, and guests Vivek Murthy, Amanda Ripley, Derik Smith and Arthur Brooks. Discussing “America at 250: Stirrings of a Spiritual Renewal,” they explored questions of meaning, purpose, connection, and the kind of society we hope to build together.

Appreciation for all who helped out and attended. You created an atmosphere of curiosity, openness, and hope.

If you missed the live event or would like to revisit the conversation, the episode will be available soon.

Race Amity Day is an invitation to reach across the barriers that too often separate us and to build friendships rooted in respect, understanding, and a recognition of our shared humanity.

As we seek to contribute to a more just and united society, each conversation across lines of race, culture, and background becomes part of a common endeavor—one that begins with seeing one another as members of one human family.

Leaders from diverse sectors gathered for “Realizing the Promise of America at 250: Social Trust, Hope, and the Public Good” to explore how trust, hope, and a commitment to the common good can help shape a more just and unified society.

Special thanks to co-host Senator Ron Wyden of Oregon.

We are grateful to panelists Rainn Wilson, Pete Davis, Dr. Jasmine Miller-Kleinhenz, Karissa Raskin, and Michael Toscano, as well as all who contributed to an atmosphere of thoughtful dialogue. Gatherings like this remind us of the power of conversation to deepen the foundations of social trust, shared purpose, and a growing sense of responsibility for one another.

This gathering was inspired by "A Common Endeavor”, a message from the Baháʼí community. We hope conversations continue in our neighborhoods, communities, and institutions, deepening our commitment to the public good and helping us realize the promise of a society where all can flourish.

The Togetherness Wayfinder is helping individuals and institutions explore new ways of understanding and addressing racism, approaches that seek to move beyond division and toward a fuller recognition of our shared humanity.

By encouraging reflection on how inherited ideas shape relationships, communities, and public life, its work contributes to efforts that strengthen understanding, trust, and solidarity.

In a time marked by both challenge and possibility, initiatives like these remind us that building a more just and united society requires new ways of seeing and being with one another.

The idea that humanity is one family invites us to think differently about the relationships, institutions, and communities that shape our lives. Reflecting on what oneness looks like in practice can help us imagine new possibilities for cooperation, belonging, and shared prosperity.

As we consider how our choices affect those around us, meaningful conversations can deepen understanding and strengthen our capacity to build a more united world. Here are a few conversation starters to help begin those discussions.

“Oneness has profound practical implications.”

This message from the Bahá’ís of the United States invites reflection on what it means to truly recognize the oneness of humanity—not simply as an ideal, but as a principle with the power to shape how we relate to one another and build our communities.

It reminds us that prejudices of every kind distort our shared humanity and must be overcome through relationships rooted in dignity, mutual care, and genuine fellowship across differences.

At a time when division can feel overwhelming, this vision calls us to nurture communities where every person can contribute, belong, and thrive.
