The Reform Movement has been advocating for LGBTQ+ rights since 1965, when the Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ) called for the decriminalization of homosexuality. Since then, substantial progress has been made in pursuit of LGBTQ+ equality.

At California Religious Action Center RAC-CA's campaign launch at the end of April, college student and teacher Jay Rosenfield shared his experiences as a transgender Jew with attendees.
In honor of Pride Month, we have shared his words: https://rac.org/blog/mud-mice-and-need-gender-affirming-care

Every child deserves to grow up in a world that sees them, values them, and keeps them safe. Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, educator, or someone who simply cares about the well-being of all children, this guide outlines six clear steps you can take to actively support and affirm trans and non-binary youth.
Even if you don’t personally know a trans child, your words and actions still matter. Inside, you’ll find practical guidance, affirming language, and tangible ways to show up, speak out, and help create a more just and loving world for every child.

This resource is sponsored by Keshet and generously supported by the YES Fund of the Women of Reform Judaism:

Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, educator, or someone who simply cares about the well-being of all children, this guide outlines six clear steps you can take to actively support and affirm trans and non-binary youth.

"If there are going to be religious texts on this list, they should reflect the religious diversity of our state and our world. But more than this, Texas students of all faiths and none deserve an education that is free from religious coercion." - Rabbi Josh Fixler, Rabbinic Co-Chair of RAC-TX

Our Jewish values support the freedom for students to belong, learn, and practice faith freely without government influence. Ohio politicians are rushing to open the door for more religious influence on our public schools. Protect the separation of church and state for Ohio's students.
