Start Here!

Saint Joan of Arc is a mission parish of the United Orthodox Catholic Church. We hold to the ancient Christian faith with hearts open to the Holy Spirit, cherishing the sacramental and liturgical traditions of the historic Church. The United Orthodox Catholic Church celebrates both Eastern and Western forms of the Divine Liturgy; here at Saint Joan of Arc, we worship in the Western tradition. Our Sunday Mass lasts about an hour, and Holy Communion is open to all baptized Christians. Dress normally.

Who is welcome? You are. Children? Of course! Divorced? You’re welcome. Not quite sure what you believe? You’re welcome. Don’t know when to sit, stand, kneel, or what the responses are? You’re welcome. Haven’t been to church in years? Come on back. LGBTQ? Yes—you are genuinely welcome here. Quite simply, if you are looking for faith, prayer, community, and a place to belong, there is a place for you at Saint Joan of Arc. And after Mass, stay for coffee, fellowship, and a chance to get to know us.

Here’s how to find us. We celebrate Mass at 9:00 AM on the second and fourth Sundays of each month, with occasional additional Sunday and weekday Masses. Check our calendar for upcoming dates and times. We share space with Bayside Christian Church, 2224 Greenwell Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23455. We generally park on the left side of the church, near the daycare entrance. We are a small and growing parish, which means you won’t disappear into the crowd—and there is plenty of room for you.

You are welcome here. Come for Mass. Stay for Family.

PRAYING FOR COLOMBIA

We call upon the clergy, religious, and faithful of the United Orthodox Catholic Church to join us in prayer for the people of Colombia following the earthquake that has shaken their communities.

In moments when the earth itself seems uncertain beneath our feet, we hold fast to the promise of God:

“Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken.”
— Isaiah 54:10

We pray especially for all who have lost homes, possessions, livelihoods, and the familiar places that gave them security. We pray for those who are frightened and uncertain, for those who have been injured, and for everyone working to bring help and hope to those in need.

Let us pray:

Merciful and loving God,
draw near to the people of Colombia in this time of fear and loss. Shelter those who have been displaced, comfort those who mourn, bring healing to the injured, and strengthen all who are responding with courage and compassion.

Where so much has been shaken, remind your people that your love remains steadfast and your mercy never fails.

Most Holy Theotokos, Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God and Mother of Mercy, spread your protecting mantle over the people of Colombia. Intercede for those who suffer and lead them ever closer to the consolation and peace of your Son.

Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Our brothers and sisters in Colombia, you are in our hearts and in our prayers.

This past Sunday at Saint Joan of Arc Orthodox Catholic Church, we had the joy of blessing an icon of Saint Francis of Assisi for our youngest parishioner, Callen.

Earlier this year, Callen chose Saint Joan of Arc as his parish home. At just seven years old, he faithfully participated in our catechetical classes and, at the General Synod of the United American Catholic Church in March, was Baptized, Chrismated, and received his First Holy Communion. For his Chrismation name, he chose Saint Francis of Assisi, whose love for Christ, creation, and all people continues to inspire Christians around the world.

Anyone who knows Callen knows he is full of life, curiosity, and joy. Most importantly, he loves Jesus. It has been a blessing to watch him grow in faith and become an active part of our parish family.

Callen's journey is also part of a larger story. His mothers have joined the Church as well, with one being Chrismated and the other being Baptized and Chrismated at Easter. Together, they remind us that the Church is not simply a place we attend—it is a family where we grow in faith, support one another, and encounter Christ.

Please join us in praying for Callen and his family as they continue their walk with Christ and the saints.

"Act, and God will act." — Saint Joan of Arc

The faith of Saint Joan of Arc changed history because she trusted God more than her fears.

This Saturday, May 30th at 10:00 AM, join us as we celebrate the Feast of our patron saint with Holy Mass and prayer.

Come and ask for Saint Joan's intercession for strength in difficult times, courage to follow God's call, and faith to remain steadfast in Christ.

All are welcome.

This Mother’s Day, we give thanks for all mothers, grandmothers, godmothers, spiritual mothers, and the loving women who have helped shape our lives in faith and love.

And we remember the Blessed Virgin Mary — the Mother of God — whose gentle “yes” to God continues to inspire the Church and the world. Mary reminds us that love, compassion, strength, and faithfulness can change lives. No matter where you are on your journey, Mary is always pointing us toward the love of Christ.

Join us this Sunday at Saint Joan of Arc Orthodox Catholic Church as we celebrate Mother’s Day together.

We are a welcoming Orthodox Catholic parish offering traditional worship, ancient faith, and an inclusive community where all are invited to experience the love of God. Whether you have been part of a church for years or are simply searching for peace, healing, and hope — there is a place for you here.

Come for Mass. Stay for the family.
