Russell dedicated the new building [our church]. Old Saint Matthew's was built in 1907 on Hardy Ave., Berkley, Virginia, on donated land. Until 1924, Saint Matthew's was Saint Mary's of Norfolk's mission chapel. Healey the parish had a vision of expanding the parish. Thirteen and a half acres in Sherry Park would be the future home of Saint Matthews, however, Father Thomas, suffering many health p

Last Sunday, June 7, our parish gathered for Father Peter's farewell Mass. Upon his return from Ghana in July, he will relocate to Fincastle, Virginia.
