Tomorrow Psalms 102 Ministries meets again at 3pm at Riverroom Church. The location is: 4524 Wishart Rd 3rd floor, Virginia Beach, VA 23455.

The topic is PTSD and recovery. It's Part 2 of a 3 part series. Part 1 focused on what PTSD is and my personal testimony, plus relevant scripture, but Part 2 will focus on different aspects of the healing process, coping skill specific to PTSD, and relevant scripture.

For the art project I want us to start a self portrait. It's OK if you can't draw well. We will use photos (or you could draw and paint it). I have been scouring your Facebook profiles for pictures of you (the regulars) so I can already have them ready, but if you're a bit particular about which one to use bring your own or if you're new to the group. If not then I can take a picture of you and print for the next meeting. This will probably take 2 workshops to finish the way I have planned. I have a little trick to make your photos easier to work with, but it needs a day to dry....hence spreading this out over 2 sessions. So if you can't make both meetings we'll just work around it the best we can! I'm looking forward to seeing you!

Psalms 102 Ministries meets again tomorrow (April 2nd) at 3pm at the River Room Church (4524 Wishart Rd, 3rd floor, Virginia Beach, VA 23455.)

The title of tomorrow’s message is: Spiritual Warfare with a New Heart: Addressing Battle Fatigue.

We will be addressing the topic of spiritual warfare. This time most of our focus will be on our own hearts instead of our loved one’s hearts. God wants to give us some pointers on how to endure the spiritual warfare we come up against as we pray and intercede for our loved ones and families. We will discuss ways to wage war against the enemy and renew our minds and spirits with the truth of God’s word.

Then we will actually go to war for approximately 30 minutes! I will pray and make declarations over you as a group, and then we will let the Holy spirit guide us to wage war for our own situations as we soak to some instrumental warfare music. However the Holy Spirit leads, you may dance, sing, pray in tongues, and/or make declarations over your life. You may bring flags, banners, or shofars if you have them.

Following this we will create art which will illustrate the process of God giving us new hearts. We will vent all of our past and present discouragement, frustrations, battles, curses, issues, fears, etc through abstract or scribble art (possibly over written words-your choice), then rip them up for it no longer has any power over you. We will let God transform those issues by then gluing the torn pieces over a new heart and using gold glitter and/or painter pens to represent the Japanese art form of Kintsugi where a broken pottery vessel is put back together with seams of gold, emphasizing the broken pieces verses hiding it. This makes the pottery vessel even stronger and more beautiful. You will then add new things to your heart that God speaks to you, perhaps symbols of God’s plans and promises for your life. In this way your heart and past is transformed into something beautiful for no part of your life is ever in vain. God can use all the pieces for his glory. As you complete this exercise allow God to minister to you.

Today our topic is "Believe." We're going to study instances in the Bible where God healed from afar and moved hearts and changed circumstances to get people to come back to him and hence bring forth the fullness of God (healing, deliverance). We're also going to do some soaking to live worship music (keyboard) and press in to hear God speak to us about our loved one/ situation and then make an encouragement card, love letter from God incorporating that word so we can open it up and be reminded of what God told us when we get discouraged.

I mentioned the private group yesterday. I wasn't aware that I couldn't start it until this public page here became "more active" and that I could only invite the ones that are active here to be part of the private group. It seems like there's a lot of hoops to jump through. So for now, most of the FB activity related to the Psalms 102 ministry will have to be done publicly. So maybe those who want a private group to interact privately on workshop topics can start liking or interacting with my posts here?

I've been invited to moderate a few different (exceptionally large) groups before...actually I was just made moderater without my permission...but I've never started my own group before so this will be new to me, and I'll need a learning curve. 🤔🙃

Hi everyone. I hope you are well.

I created this page to put everything related to Psalms 102 ministries in one place to make it easier to find. So I will post all the videos here. I especially wanted to make it easier for the YouTube audience, or to whomever might be interested in following along on a regular basis. Also, I made a WordPress document which links the 1st video/workshop with the soaking music and art activities as well as photos (scroll down to see.) I thought it might be good to post encouraging or inspirational thoughts or links as well which may relate in some way.

I started a separate, private Psalms 102 ministry group (related to this public page, but separate as the group is private.) I wanted the group to be available only for those who are actively attending the workshops that way we have a safe place to ask questions; discuss the workshops or our life experiences in relation to what were going through loving someone with a mental health challenge, affliction or addiction; and/or ask for prayer. Its not totally out of the question for someone who doesn't attend the workshops because of distance or circumstances to be part of this group, but they would have to be a regular participant online through watching the videos, joining the discussions etc, and demonstrate they are a safe, genuine person. The reason for that is to keep it safe and more intimate for just us. Also, this is a good way to share news events, weather cancelations, etc.

So just to be clear this place here is the public place for anyone who wants to follow the ministry or watch the workshops, but I have a separate, private group I created which I'll invite all our in person participants to.
