Tuesday, June 9
"You are the salt of the earth... You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden." (Matthew 5:13, 14)

Today’s Prayer: Lord, let Your light shine through me today. Keep me from blending into the background or hiding my faith out of fear. Give me the courage to bring the "flavor" of Your joy and the light of Your truth into my workplace and community.

Daily Podcast: Listen Here

Daily Challenge: Be "salt and light" today by consciously shifting a negative environment—gently turning a complaining session into a conversation focused on gratitude.

Who is your best friend? Aristotle notes that there are three types of friends: those of utility, pleasure, and virtue. In the Christian understanding, truly virtuous friendship continues into heaven because the two people have spurred each other on to holiness. Learn more about virtuous friends here:

"Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the clean of heart, for they will see God." (Matthew 5:7-8)

Today’s Prayer: Jesus, You invert the standards of the world through the Beatitudes. Give me the grace to be poor in spirit, gentle, and merciful today. Purify my heart so that I can see Your presence in every person and situation I encounter.

Prayer for Spiritual Communion:
My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot, at this moment, receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You.
Amen.
