Day 2: Made for More Than Self-Rule
Scripture: Genesis 2:15 — “To work it and keep it.”

God created Adam with meaningful responsibility. Work, stewardship, and service existed before sin entered the world. Yet our hearts often drift toward two extremes: self-sufficiency or passivity. We either try to carry everything ourselves or avoid the responsibilities God has given us. Jesus frees us from both. Through His grace, we are no longer striving to prove our worth, nor are we aimless. We are loved children who can faithfully serve God where He has placed us. Responsibility becomes an opportunity to reflect His character rather than earn His favor.

Reflect: What responsibility has God entrusted to you that you can embrace as an act of worship today?
Prayer: Lord, help me serve faithfully from Your grace rather than for Your approval.

Day 1: Life Is a Gift
Scripture: Genesis 2:15 — “The LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden.”

Before Adam received a command, he received a gift. God placed him in a world overflowing with beauty, provision, purpose, and His presence. We often live as though everything depends on us. We strive, worry, and grasp for control. Yet the gospel reminds us that life begins with grace, not performance. In Christ, God
welcomes us before we prove ourselves. His commands are not burdens imposed by a harsh master but guidance from a generous Father. Today, rest in His goodness and receive His gifts with gratitude.

Reflect: What gift from God can you intentionally thank Him for today?
Prayer: Father, help me receive Your gifts with gratitude and trust Your goodness today.

Day 5: Let Longing Lead You Home

Genesis 2:8–14; Revelation 22:1–2 — The Bible begins with a garden and ends with the tree of life restored.

We all feel it—a quiet ache for peace, beauty, joy, and life to be whole. We often numb that longing or ask created things to satisfy it. But Genesis teaches us that this ache is not foolish. It is an echo of Eden. And the gospel tells us that Jesus came to bring sinners home. He was cast out so we could be brought in. Your deepest longing is not ultimately for comfort, success, or control—it is for life with God.

Question: Where have you been looking for life instead of letting your longing lead you to God?
Prayer: Lord Jesus, turn my deepest longings into worship and lead me home to You
