Day 5: We Belong to Him
Titus 2:14 — Christ “gave himself for us…to purify for himself a people for his own possession.”

Why should we gladly live under God’s authority? Because the One who rules us is the One who gave Himself for us. Jesus did not redeem us merely to improve our lives while leaving us in charge. He redeemed us to make us His own. That is good news: we belong to the Savior who loves us. His Word may shape our thinking, redirect our desires, guide our choices, and even restrain us—but always under His gracious care.

Reflect: Where can you trust Christ’s loving authority today?
Prayer: Jesus, I belong to You; graciously form my life through Your Word.

Day 4: A Word for You
James 1:22 — “Be doers of the word, and not hearers only.”

It is surprisingly easy to hear God’s Word and immediately think about someone else who needs it. But God graciously gives His Word to form us. Before asking what your spouse, child, friend, or church should change, receive Scripture as God’s gift to you. You do not obey to earn His favor. In Christ, you have already received grace. Obedience grows from trusting the God who loved you first and desires to make you increasingly like His Son.

Reflect: As you read today, ask one question: “Lord, what truth do You want me to trust and live?”
Prayer: Lord, form me through Your Word today.

Day 3: Could I Be Wrong?
Psalm 139:23–24 — “Search me, O God, and know my heart!”

We easily notice where others misunderstand Scripture while overlooking our own blind spots. Humility begins by remembering that God knows perfectly and we do not. Thankfully, our hope is not in interpreting everything perfectly but in Christ, who graciously leads His people into truth. Because we are secure in Him, admitting we may be mistaken need not threaten us. We can listen, learn, and return to Scripture with open hearts.

Reflect: Is there an issue where you could ask a mature Christian, “Help me see whether I might be missing
something”?
Prayer: Father, search me and give me humility to receive Your truth.

Day 2: When God Says No
Titus 2:15 — “Exhort and rebuke…”

We gladly receive Scripture when it comforts us. Rebuke is harder. Something in us wants God’s encouragement without God’s correction. Yet the grace that saves us also trains us “to renounce ungodliness” (Titus 2:12). God’s “no” is therefore not opposed to His love. Jesus gave Himself to free us from the very sins that destroy us. When His Word confronts us, we can trust that the Savior correcting us is also the Savior who gave Himself for us.

Reflect: Is God’s Word confronting something you need to stop defending and entrust to Him?
Prayer: Jesus, help me receive Your correction as an expression of Your redeeming grace.

Day 1: Under the Word
Titus 2:15 — “Declare these things…with all authority.”

God’s Word does not receive its authority from a preacher, a church, or our agreement. God speaks, and His Word carries His authority. Yet we often approach Scripture asking whether it fits what we already think or want. The gospel invites a different posture. Jesus gave Himself to make us His own; therefore, His authority is the loving authority of our Redeemer. We can trust the One who speaks, even when His Word challenges us.

Reflect: Before reading Scripture today, will you simply pray, “Lord, You know better than I do”?
Prayer: Lord, give me grace to receive Your Word with humble trust.
