God, our healer and our refuge, we pray for all who suffer from gun violence. Our hearts are pierced with grief and anger at the mass shooting in Seattle. With your mercy, bind up their wounds, restore their bodies, and heal their hearts. Comfort the mourners and embrace the lonely. With your might, empower us to change this broken world. Make us advocates for a stable society, alive with hope in you. We ask this through the one once wounded for our transgressions and now standing with us in our sorrows, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.

Mark your calendars for June 20, a big day of events at Central Lutheran Church!

At 2:00pm, we will welcome Rev. Dr. William Stell, author of "Born Again Q***r." This book tour event will explore the roots of homophobia in the evangelical tradition and why it may not be as long-standing or fundamental as is often assumed.
This event is in collaboration with Seattle First Baptist Church and books will be available for purchase from Elliott Bay Book Company.

At 4:30pm, we will hold our Third Annual Pride Worship, a time of lamenting the current and historic attacks on the Q***r Community and a resilient celebration of God's abundant love and Q***r joy. Rev. Dr. Stell will preach and Bishop Shelley Bryan Wee of the Northwest Washington Synod, ELCA will bring a word of greeting.
This event is in collaboration with Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, Seattle and University Lutheran Church - Seattle.

These are the first of our Pride events this month and you won't want to miss them!
