This Week Sharing:
BIBLE STUDY FOR 1 John chapter 2:1 - 14

"Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him." -- 1 John 2:4 - 5 (ESV)

Many Christian do have a wrong concept on their Christian life: I must follow God's commandments by myself no matter how hard it is. That is not true. All Christian only can follow God's commandment when they truly, truly love God, and the Holy Spirit fulfill into their spirit.

In Galatians 2:16, Bible also says:

"yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified."

Also, in the Romans also state that:

"For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. " -- Romans 7:18 (ESV)

Those verses clearly shows that we, as human, we can never reach the God's holy standard by our natural effort. Only God Himself can help us overcome our sin, and cleanse us by Christ Jesus blood, to satisfy His righteousness. Bible even says,

"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus." -- Romans 3:23 - 27 (ESV)

We can meet God's righteousness because we believe that Jesus Christ died for our sin, and in His blood there is power to let us overcome the sin, He already is a victor that sit on Father's right shoulder, and the Holy Spirit divine into our spirit to help us live more like Christ, even be the same as He is in life and nature, but not in the Godhead.

Nevertheless, sometimes we sin again and the again after we believe in Christ. Some brothers and sisters may not know how to deal with it, or even lost their faith on God. But, Lord and David give us a good example in the Bible:

"Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil." -- Matthew 6:9 - 14 (ESV)

"Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!" -- Psalm 139:23 - 24 (ESV)

Brothers and sisters, if this is our daily prayer, and cried out to the Lord in His front, asking Him for His mercy, He shall rescue us from all the darkness in this world, and let us won't sin again! Remember, Bible even state this:

"for the righteous falls seven times and rises again, but the wicked stumble in times of calamity." -- Proverbs 24:16 (ESV)

BIBLE STUDY FOR 1 John chapter 1

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." -- 1 John 1:9 (ESV)
=====
Sometimes we feel we are not qualify to come forward to the God's throne; or we think that God is trying to judge us and destory us for our being, so we turn away and leave the Lord.

However, if we confess that we cannot overcome the sin by our own, and cry out to the Lord for mercy and grace, He shall be with us and cleanse all unrighteousness.

Bible also mention in the Old Testement. According to Jeremiah 29:11,

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to gove you a future and a hope" -- Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV)

Furthermore, in Hebrews chapter 4 also says,

"For we do not have a High Preist who cannot be touched with the feeling of our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all respect like us, yet without sin. Let us therefore come forward with boldness to the thorne of grace that we may receive mercy and find grace for timely help." -- Hebrews 4:15-16 (RCV)

So don't because our own being then turn away from God, He knows all our weaknesses, and His desire is to giving us peace, and want to help us to clean all our sinful being. Just come forward with boldness to the thorne of grace, receive mercy and find grace for timely help.

Week 9 announcement

According to Eunsol (Club's Secretary), our meeting time will not be change because of the luncheon; we are still meet at Friday 4:00pm ~ 5:00pm.

However, the location will be change for this week, we are going to meet at SORC room, which is Student Leadership Building.

This week, we are going to talk about discipleship, which means that God makes man the same as He is in life and nature, but not in the Godhead. God wants to make Himself one with man, and man one with Him. Is that not wonderful that our God wants to be with us, live in us, and transform us through the Holy Spirit if we put our faith on Him? You will know more in this week's meeting!

By the way, the final week is coming, I hope the Lord blessing us to overcome all the difficulties on the academic.

"In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you." -- John 14:20

Week 4 meeting is cencel.

This Friday, May 1, a large May Day march is scheduled to take place on the South Plaza of Seattle Central's Broadway campus around 6 p.m. As a precuationary, club's officers have decided to cancel the meeting in order to make sure your own safety.

This peaceful march have sometimes escalated into violent protest with strong police response that created an unsafe environment for people on and around our campus.

According to school's President, Paul T. Killpatrick, Ph.D., he has decided to close the campus on 5 p.m., all students, faculty, staff and vistors must exit all campus buildings at this time.
Furthermore, if you have no any business need to done around Capitol Hill and Downtown, please don't stay there after 5:30pm.

I pray for the Lord to bless everyone can be safe by His mercy.
