This morning, we commissioned our youth mission team during the worship service, and we’re grateful to share that they have arrived safely in Kansas City 🚐

This week, our Hope students, along with students from First Presbyterian Church of Omaha are partnering with Next Step Ministries for a meaningful week of service, learning, and faith formation.

Though they may be away from Omaha, they carry the prayers and support of our Hope community with them. Please keep our youth, adult leaders, and the people they will meet and serve in your prayers throughout the week.

We’ll be sharing updates in our posts and stories as the week unfolds, so be sure to follow along 🤗

Messy Ministry is back 🫟

Looking for a fun, hands-on way for kids to grow in faith this summer? Join us for Messy Ministry, beginning tomorrow, Sunday, May 31st, and continuing throughout the summer! Each Sunday morning, with the help of our middle and high school students, our children’s ministry will enjoy creative activities, games, crafts, Bible connections, and a little bit of mess as we all learn and grow together.

We would love to see your family there this summer! Please feel free to invite friends and neighbors to join us as well.

📍 Where: Upstairs in the Faith Formation classrooms
🕘 When: Sundays, 9:00–9:45 AM
📅 Starts: May 31st and continues through the summer

Come ready to create, explore, laugh, and maybe get a little messy! We can’t wait to see you there!

Also on Sunday mornings:
9am | Adult Faith Formation
10am | Worship Service

Nursery care available if desired (infant through 5 years old)

Rev. Dennis Hysom, Executive Director, Presbyterian Federal Chaplaincies, writes this about Memorial Day:

"It is a day set apart to remember, intentionally and reverently, those who gave their lives in service to others. It is also a day to acknowledge the quiet grief carried by families, friends and communities who continue living in the absence of someone they love.
..On this Memorial Day, may we remember with gratitude. May we honor with humility. And may we walk alongside those who carry loss, offering them the steady reminder that they are not alone."

🎓 It’s graduation season, and last Sunday we had the joy of celebrating and praying for the graduates in our Hope community. While a few weren’t able to be with us that morning, we’re grateful for each of them and excited for their unique paths that lie ahead. Congratulations, graduates! Your church community is cheering you on and holding you in prayer in this new season!

What a way to wrap up the spring youth ministry season 🏓🎉

The HighKey HOPEfuls faced off against the HOPEful Has-Beens in an evening full of pickleball, cheering sections, great food, friendly competition, and LOTS of laughter.

In the end, Mitch and Mike of the HOPEful Has-Beens claimed the championship title, which meant… Jenny Gollehon, Director of Children’s & Youth Faith Formation, paid the price with a colorful spray foam celebration 🌈😂

Thank you to everyone who played, cheered, grilled, laughed, and helped make the night such a fun community event. We love the joy, connection, and memories shared across generations at Hope ❤️

Reminder: There will be no Faith Formation or Youth Group this Sunday. We will have our regular worship service at 10am.

As our summer ministry term begins, if you’d like to receive information about Hope’s children’s and youth ministries, you can fill out the online form at https://hpcomaha.org/kids-youth/ or contact Jenny Gollehon, Director of Children’s & Youth Faith Formation, at [email protected].

Please help us welcome Abby Dohmen as Hope’s Summer Ministry Intern ☀️

Abby just finished her first year at the University of Iowa, and many of you already know her from Hope’s youth group or as one of our Sunday morning drummers. This summer, she’ll be serving alongside Jenny Gollehon (Director of Faith Formation for Children & Youth) and helping with youth ministry, children’s programming, events, mission trips, and more.

We’ve loved watching Abby grow into such a thoughtful and caring leader, and we’re excited for our students and families to get to know her even better this summer.

Be sure to say hello 👋 and welcome Abby when you see her around Hope!
