Today is 'International Day of Charity'!
It is now exactly one year since I emptied the Donation Box at our 'point of sale' the last time.

Now I emptied the Donation Box again!
You donated the whole year for our educational Mission Projects $ 850!
We, the missionary Benedictines, say a heartfelt Thank you very much!

Today, we are involved on all levels of education. We operate or co-sponsor a great number of kindergarten, elementary and secondary schools, we are also involved in high school and university education. Statistics posted by the goverment show that our schools are among the top 20 of all schools in the countries.

Feast Day of Saint Gregory the Great, September 3

St. Gregory the Great (540-604, Rome) was the pope, the leader of the Roman Catholic Church, from 590 to 604.

Saint Gregory wrote about St. Benedict in his Second Book of Dialogues, but his account of the life and miracles of Benedict cannot be regarded as a biography in the modern sense of the term. Gregory’s purpose in writing Benedict’s life was to edify and to inspire, not to seek out the particulars of his daily life. Gregory sought to show that saints of God, particularly St. Benedict, were still operative in the Christian Church in spite of all the political and religious chaos present in the realm. At the same time it would be inaccurate to claim that Gregory presented no facts about Benedict’s life and works.
