Movies with friends – Summer Solstice evening

Join us for Movie Night, June 21st at 5:30. We will watch the 1973 movie Wicker Man. Summer Solstice evening, we will be showing this Horror/Thriller. A puritan police sergeant arrives in a Scottish island village in search of a missing girl, who the pagan locals claim never existed. You can watch the trailer here. Wicker Man is rated R for moderate s*x & nudity; moderate violence & gore; and moderate frightening & intense scenes.

Medical Debt House Meeting

We have an opportunity to push the needle on helping Nebraskans with medical debt relief. The legislature has already passed a debt relief fund, but it sits idle right now. Medical bills shouldn't threaten our families’ financial stability or peace of mind, yet so many in our community are quietly carrying this heavy burden. Omaha Together One Community (OTOC) is holding a special meeting to discuss how we can organize for medical debt relief in Omaha....

ACLU Event recap – and going forward

Our ACLU Event on June 3rd was a huge sucessss. Thatk you to everyon who joined us. Fighting authoritarianism starts with one simple rule: Don’t Fight Alone! That was the message shared by Thai Pham and Adairah Thapa of the National & Nebraska ACLU. Rev Meadows opened the evening with an invocation. Thai explained how the ACLU protects free speech, mobilizes public engagement, defends immigrants’ rights, files litigation and works to safeguard our elections....
