Share the Plate September and October 2026: National Federation of the Blind

Every month, Second Unitarian shares 1/2 of our offering with a local non-profit. Our share the Plate for September and October is the Omaha Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind (NFB). According to the national federation of the blind lost eyesight or seeing nothing spare the mind! For September and October half of our pledge will go to the efforts of the NFB, to achieve equality, opportunity, and security for the blind; to support the policies and programs of the Federation; and to abide by its constitution....

Hello YRUU (Young Religious Unitarian Universalists) families! Please join us August 26 from 7 to 8:30 for our annual YRUU Parent & Youth Orientation and Ice Cream Social. (Please bring along a favorite ice cream topping to share!) Youth will be meeting in the First Unitarian Common Room and parents/guardians will be meeting in the Nursery/Multipurpose room. If you are unable to attend this meeting but your child would like to participate in YRUU this year, please contact Ashleigh.

We need your book donations!

The annual book sale is coming right up! Do you have any books you've been needing an excuse to get rid of? If you have any to donate, just put them underneath the coat rack in the church foyer. Then, you will have room for more great books to read this fall! The sale will be September 20th and 27th (Rain date: October 4th) from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. or so.

Are you an introvert and approaching people during coffee hour isn’t your thing? Join us August 30th for After Hour, when we meet downstairs for discussion in a quiet environment. After Hour will be in-person only. We meet downstairs at 11:45 on the last Sunday of the month to engage more deeply with the service. But it’s a casual gathering, so don’t be shy!
