Touching Lives with the Gospel of Hope
Milwaukee County Community Reintegration Center

For well over one hundred years, our South Wisconsin District has maintained an office and ministry presence at the Milwaukee County Community Reintegration Center, formerly known as the House of Correction, in Franklin, Wisconsin.

We thank God and the South Wisconsin District for their continued support in sharing the Law and Gospel in this unique environment, a place society often forgets. We also thank God for our District President, Rev. Dr. Meador, and our church body partners for their faithful encouragement, prayers, and partnership.

Our chaplains continue to share God's love with the residents through worship services, pastoral care, counseling, and prayer. Lives are touched by the Gospel message of hope, forgiveness, and restoration.

Today, our ministry extends not only to residents, but also to the correctional officers and staff who faithfully serve. We thank God for the recent Correctional Officers Graduation Ceremony and for those who have answered the call to serve and protect our community.

Please pray for all correctional officers and for our chaplains, that the Gospel of Jesus Christ may continue to bring hope and transformation to many lives.

$500K Matching Gift Opportunity
Lutheran Church Extension Fund

LCEF staff, investors, and donors and so many others in The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) are already stepping forward in a big way! Together, they’ve unlocked more than $170,000 in matching funds for the Church Worker Loan Pool.

But we’re not done yet. Every gift is still doubled, dollar for dollar, up to a total of $500,000, to strengthen and support LCMS church workers. Your participation, at any level, helps lower loan rates so more church workers can set financial stress aside and focus on their calling to serve Him.

June 15, 2026 is LCEF Giving Day. On June 15, your gift will be tripled for one day only.

This is your moment to make twice or triple the impact. Match the moment and give today.

A Legacy of Care: From Kinderfreund to Today
Lutheran Counseling and Family Services

Lutheran Counseling and Family Services (LCFS) is blessed to celebrate its 130th year of service to LCMS congregations and schools, families, and communities in Wisconsin. Our history began in 1896 when Lutheran pastors and lay people gathered at Trinity Lutheran Church in Milwaukee to address the need to care for homeless and neglected children. These pioneers responded in love by establishing the Evangelical Lutheran Kinderfreund Society of Wisconsin. A home was opened in the 1920s to welcome and shelter vulnerable children. Our outreach to serve children continues today through our adoption services. We care for and consider the needs of all who are involved in the adoption process, the birthmother, the child, and the adoptive parents. LCFS also offers mental health counseling, addictions counseling, in-school counseling, and in-service training for school staff. We have ten satellite locations across Wisconsin and offer individual, family, and group counseling.

For more information on our services and to learn about our resources, please visit www.lcfswi.org or call 414-536-8333. We look forward to sharing with you soon our plans to celebrate LCFS' work for the past 130 years.

A Year of Fellowship at UW-Platteville

The Lutheran Student Fellowship (LSF) at UW–Platteville meets on campus Monday evenings for Bible study and hosts on-campus worship every Wednesday evening. Pastor Mark Kufahl leads the services and offers the Lord's Supper to all LCMS Lutherans.

This past school year, students enjoyed fun and relaxing activities, including several alongside Wisconsin Synod students. In fall 2025, the two groups met at a local pizza parlor to discuss the similarities and differences between the LCMS and the WELS while enjoying one another's company. They also met for a friendly volleyball game during the winter.

The LSF went bowling during the winter semester, played a round of disc golf at the local course in early May 2026, and hosted a board-game night to give stressed-out students some respite during finals week.

The group also served the wider community, collecting items for the local food pantry and volunteering at a women and family shelter, where they helped with yard cleanup and minor repairs.

Please pray for the students and the ongoing success of campus ministry. For more information visit https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61566999896955 or contact Pastor Kufahl at [email protected].

Sharing Christ in the Heart of Milwaukee
Holy Ghost Lutheran Church

At Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, the mission to share Christ shapes everything we do. We see God at work through worship, outreach, and community care as we carry the Gospel into the heart of Milwaukee.

Every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., members go out for neighborhood evangelism, sharing the Gospel and building relationships with families throughout the community. This commitment to meeting our neighbors where they are remains central to our calling.

On Sundays, we gather for Bible class and Sunday school at 9:00 a.m., followed by worship at 10:00 a.m. These gatherings strengthen faith and equip members for the work of evangelism and confirmation.

Each Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., our Community Care Center serves those in need through food pantry, clothing pantry, and Bible study ministries — caring for the body while pointing to Christ. We gather again for prayer service at 6:00 p.m. and choir rehearsal at 6:30 p.m.

Please keep this mission in your prayers and consider partnering with us through volunteer support and community connection as we share the love of Christ in Milwaukee. For more information, please contact: [email protected].
