Hello St. Matthews! I am running a blanket-making Eagle Project in the fellowship hall this Saturday, June 6 from 10am to 2pm! It's a very fun crafty project, and you can help make blankets with your friends and family. All ages are welcome and encouraged to help with the project! No experience is needed; the double-fleece blankets will be made by cutting and tying easy knots together on fleece fabric! Pizza and soda will be provided, and while no donation is necessary, it is still very welcome! For those who would like to donate but can't come, cash or checks made out to Will Freeborn are welcome. These blankets will be sent to Sojourners Family Peace Center and Outreach for Hope. I can sign off on any service hours for those who might need that done! Please come and help out. It's gonna be a blast!

Join us May 20 at 11:30am for a helpful presentation on diabetes prevention with Hanna Misiak, Certified Health Education Specialist and Executive Director of Health Strategy & Integration for the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee.

Come learn key facts about diabetes and simple ways to help prevent it. All are welcome.

Many of us have felt overwhelmed by current events in our nation and throughout the world, wondering: Can we make a difference? Is it our calling to speak up? How can we do that? Ian Schmitt Ernst, a recent graduate of Wauwatosa East and an organizer for Wisconsin Conservation Voters, shared his personal experience as an advocate for public policy changes. He talked about how he has answered some of those questions and acted on his hopes. The group also looked at the whys and hows of faith-based advocacy here at St. Matthew’s, in our Greater Milwaukee Synod, and in the ELCA. The Holy Spirit does great work through the gathered community!
