3 good things about John the Baptist.

1 his statement of purpose: that Christ should be made manifest. John 1: 31

2 his declaration of truth: “this is the Son of God” John. 1: 34

3 his results: those who heard him followed Jesus.
John 1:37

John 1: 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

The Greek word for comprehended is κατάλαβεν
Katalaven which means the same unto this day in modern Greek “understand or comprehend”

The need to comprehend something means that, that thing is higher than your level. You don’t have the power to grasp it in your mind.

There are only two ways then that you could ever comprehend it. Either bring it down to your level or rise in your knowledge until you can grasp it.

Jesus came down to us and then taught us the truth. So he came down and brought us up.

But the darkness cannot comprehend the light. If the light is lowered to the level of darkness, it would no longer be light.
So much of what’s going on in today’s churches is lowering the light to the level of darkness.

And as Jesus said “if the light that is in you be darkness, how great is that darkness “

We cannot lower the light unto the darkness, we must shine the light into the darkness, so that those in darkness can come forth into the light.

Most people assume snail teeth are soft, weak, or primitive. In reality, they are the exact opposite. Scientists have discovered that snail teeth are the strongest known biological material on Earth. Pound for pound, they outperform spider silk, human bone, and even many advanced engineered metals. These teeth are attached to a ribbon-like tongue called a radula, covered with thousands of microscopic blades designed to scrape across solid rock day after day without wearing down.

What makes them so extraordinary is their structure. Each tiny tooth is reinforced with iron-rich goethite nanofibers arranged with astonishing precision. The internal design distributes stress so efficiently that laboratory tests show these teeth can withstand pressures powerful enough to form diamond from carbon. At a scale invisible to the human eye, these teeth function like precision-engineered industrial tools.

And all of this exists inside a creature most people step over without a second thought.

This was not the product of blind evolution, random mutations, or time and chance. This is intentional engineering written at the nanoscale level. Even the smallest details of creation declare the wisdom, power, and creativity of God. The same Creator who designed galaxies beyond counting also designed microscopic tools stronger than many man-made materials inside the mouth of a tiny snail.

It’s interesting that in the Old Testament, the priests of the old temple had special vestments to wear.

But in the New Testament, nowhere are any Christian ministers instructed to wear any specific clothing or religious vestments.
Jesus obviously dressed like a normal person, because Judas had to kiss him to point him out.
If he had dressed or appeared differently than any other man this would have been unnecessary.

Many churches have special garments and vestments.

Is this just a preference thing?

Or is most Christianity playing a game?
For 2000 years trying to keep dead works alive.
Pretending as if the savior did not finish the work.
Christ put the last nail in the coffin of dead religious works, yet men would rather play make believe with a co**se than to accept what is finished.

Has 99% of “christian” doings been wasted trying to finish what was already finished?
Trying to do what is already done?

Nothing is left to do, except for us to be ambassadors of the finished work.

2 Cor 5. 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God

This insect looks exactly like a leaf… and some people still say nature shows no sign of design.

The leaf insect is one of the most astonishing examples of camouflage found anywhere in nature. Its body is shaped like a leaf, colored like a leaf, textured like a leaf, and even contains vein-like patterns that imitate real plant structures. Some species even mimic damaged leaves with fake bite marks and brown edges.

But the illusion does not stop there.

These insects also move slowly in a swaying motion that resembles leaves blowing in the wind. This behavior makes them even harder for predators to detect. Their survival depends on an extraordinary combination of body design, coloration, texture, movement, and environmental awareness working together at the same time.

The deeper scientists study biological systems, the more complexity they continue to discover. Tiny creatures like this contain advanced solutions involving camouflage engineering, sensory systems, structural precision, and survival strategies that human technology still struggles to imitate perfectly.

Many people see systems like this and conclude that nature does not merely look random. It looks intentional, purposeful, and intelligently arranged.

A leaf that walks.
A camouflage system more advanced than many human military technologies.
And all of it contained inside a tiny living insect.

Nature continues to leave humanity amazed.

I saw this beautiful rainbow today, and it made me think about Noah and the flood.

There are arguments against the Noahic flood, but I was thinking about this rainbow, and how that obviously, the flood altered the atmosphere as to produce rainbows.

The earth must have been quite different before the flood. People lived to be of great age, plants and animals grew to be much larger than today.

One question posed against the flood is “how did the fish survive the mixing of salt and fresh waters?”

The actual problem is that we really don’t know much about the pre flood world. Perhaps the entire earth was mostly a giant sea, perhaps the land was mostly low country flat land with small rolling hills, perhaps the oceans were quite different than now.

There are many many guesses. But the real answer is, we really don’t know.

It was a radically different world, a world with no rainbows, indicating a dramatically different atmosphere. All we can say is that many fish and marine animals died in the flood, but enough lived to repopulate the oceans and streams afterwards.

A comment on my post about whether God forsook the Son.

To clarify. God allowed men to do as they would with Christ, and Jesus himself layed down his life freely.
In the sense of God allowing, he was forsaken.
Forsaken unto death.

But that doesn’t actually indicate an action of God against Christ. It indicates an “overlooking”

The scripture say, “God was in Christ” and when Jesus prayed, God heard.

The “being forsaken” was not the Father himself performing some negative action toward the Son.

Also the wrath that Jesus endured was the wrath of man. Which can be seen to be God’s wrath in a sense.
But I am saying that God did not in some metaphysical/ spiritual way lay more pain on his Son than what he received as a crucified man. God didn’t not, himself act against the Son.

The whole of Calvary was a work of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

Christ offered himself without spot to God, and the Father was well pleased by what Jesus did.

I’m just saying we should be careful with the language that God himself would perform some act of wrath upon his Son.

This presents God as an ill tempered human man, who vents anger on some object. If we see that kind of behavior in a person, we would all say “that guy needs to repent.”

We should not attribute this strange dark age theology to God.

God did not forsake Christ on the cross.

Psalm 22: My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?

This was the Lord’s prophetic cry upon the cross, in desperation of soul. But we forget vs 24.

24 For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.

It plainly says that God did not hide his face.

It’s also false that God punished Jesus on the cross. The darkness was not a cover for God pouring wrath on Jesus. That’s actually a blasphemy to say that.

The wrath Jesus suffered was the wrath of man. In a sense we could say that was God’s allowing that to happen, as wrath.

But not as we have heard in some circles. What Jesus did was, as the perfect and righteous God-man was to die. His blood cried to God better things than that of Abel. Abel’s blood cried for vengeance, Christ’s blood cries for forgiveness.

Death is the wages of sin. He as the perfect sinless “God manifest in the flesh” man, died the death that Adam brought on us all.

Becoming the second Adam. The new head of humanity.

He is the “propitiation” which means what he did satisfied the just demand of righteousness that sin must receive the wage of death. When the sinless one died, declaring that death to be for all, God heard.

There is more to the story. Spoken by all prophets of God since the World began , the prophecy of the future resurrection and kingdom of God is very prominent in the Old Testament.

Jesus’s cross work was necessary to even justify God in doing what he plans to do. By dying for sin and sinners, giving his life for them. God is just to raise them from the dead.

Thus the pinnacle of ages was Calvary.
The creator God redeeming his creation back to himself.
