Teach us to walk in Your ways.

Write Your love on our hearts.

This week we will spend time with Jeremiah 29 and the familiar promise that God has plans to give His people hope and a future. But we will hear that promise in its original setting: spoken to people in exile, people who were not where they wanted to be and whose lives had not gone according to plan. Together we will ask what faithfulness looks like when we find ourselves in places or seasons we would not have chosen. God does not tell His people to put life on hold until things get easier; He tells them to build, plant, pray, and seek the good of the place where they are. We will remember that their calling was not cancelled by exile, and ours is not cancelled by difficult circumstances either. In Jesus, we are called salt and light, rooted in grace so that others may catch a glimpse of God’s goodness through us.

Jeremiah 29 includes a promise many people know: God gives “a future with hope.”

But that promise was first spoken to people who were far from home, living in a place they did not choose. Before God spoke of future hope, God called them to seek the good of the place where they were — to build, plant, pray, and live for the good of their neighbors.

That is a word we still need.

What does it mean to live faithfully and lovingly right where God has planted us?

Goodness often shows up close to home. 🏡

A neighbor checks in. Someone offers a kind word. A meal is shared. A burden gets a little lighter. A moment of patience or generosity comes at just the right time.

We believe God is at work in our community, often through ordinary people doing ordinary things with love.

When the Spirit gifts people for ministry, the church should pay attention.

Pastor Aaron has written a pastoral reflection on Scripture, calling, and why the church is stronger when it receives the gifts God gives — including the gifts God gives through women called to preach, lead, teach, pastor, and serve.

Small acts of love still matter. 🌱

A meal shared. A neighbor checked on. A prayer whispered. A kind word offered at the right time. A little patience. A little mercy. A little light.

We may not always see the full harvest, but God can use ordinary faithfulness for the good of others.
