We are profoundly shocked and saddened to share that members of our cycling team were in an accident involving a vehicle this morning while cycling in Hampton, TN. Sophomores Haylan Engdahl and Brayden Rogers were killed in this accident. Multiple other Milligan cyclists were also seriously injured and are currently receiving treatment at the Johnson City Medical Center. There are no words to adequately describe this level of loss. Our prayers are with all those impacted by this tragedy. Please keep the Milligan community in your prayers.

Shyanna "Shy" McGinnis, M.S.

Shy grew up in the Hawkins County and Kingsport area. She graduated from Capella University in 2023 with a master's in clinical mental health counseling and certification in Marriage and Family therapy. Her approaches are mainly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
{CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Person centered, and Integrative therapy. Shy has been certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and almost fully trained in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT). She has experience with adolescents, teenagers, adults, families, and couples. Shy is a trauma informed therapist with several years of experience and would love to work with you, your child{ren),
or your family to help navigate life. Building a strong therapeutic alliance is Shy's primary goal so that clients feel safe in her office and always having a judgement free area.
