✡️ Shabbat Message from Rabbi Dan Levin:
“Our mission is to lean into the yearnings of a Nazir, to shed our distractions and to focus on how God calls us to holiness. We listen for God’s call in dialogue with the sacred texts of our tradition. We listen for God’s call in the midst of ritual and sacred practice. We listen for God’s call in acts of service and compassion and justice. We listen for God’s call in the quiet moments of conscience, and in the nexus of love. It’s not easy to discern what it is that God is asking of us.  Listening to God takes practice. It takes deliberate intention. So open your ears to wise teachers and read great words.  Open your mind to new ideas that challenge you to think.  Open your heart to what love can show you.”

🥃 Join Rabbi Greg Weisman and the men of Temple Beth El for a spiritual journey down the Bourbon Trail. Spend three nights in Louisville, Kentucky tasting delicious bourbons, seeking spiritual uplift, and connecting with other Temple guys.

We will explore the unique Jewish stories in the bourbon industry, welcome Shabbat at a historic synagogue, and create lifelong memories. Our experience together will begin with dinner on Thursday, November 12, and conclude in time to fly home on Sunday, November 15. This is a limited capacity experience, open exclusively to members of Temple Beth El.

Shabbat Message from Rabbi Ashira Boxman:
“Each time we return to Torah, we bring a different version of ourselves to the text. Different joys, different heartbreaks, different questions, different wisdom. The stories remain the same, but somehow they continue to meet us exactly where we are. In receiving the Torah, we discovered what it means to be deeply human. In reading these ancient stories year after year, we are reminded that our struggles are not unique. The fears, hopes, disappointments, celebrations, and moments of uncertainty that filled the lives of our ancestors continue to fill our own lives today. Torah reminds us that we are part of a much larger story, one that stretches backward for generations and forward into the future.”
