A lot of people walked away from faith because they thought faith required certainty.

But the Bible is full of people trying to follow God without fully understanding what he was doing.

Maybe trust isn’t the absence of questions.
Maybe it’s learning how to move forward honestly while you still have them.

Mentors needed for a special Super Moms Birdhouse Build on May 29 from 6–8 pm. We’re looking for men who are willing to spend a couple hours building birdhouses with kids, encouraging them, and being a positive presence in their lives.

No woodworking experience needed. This is less about building perfect birdhouses and more about showing up, connecting, and helping create a fun and meaningful night.

All supplies will be provided. Sign up today if you’d like to serve as a mentor for the evening: https://compassbn.churchcenter.com/registrations/events/3658809

What do you do when you honestly don’t know what God is doing?

Not the church answer.
Not the cliché answer.
The real answer.

Because a lot of people are trying to hold onto faith while dealing with uncertainty, anxiety, unanswered questions, suffering, disappointment, and a future that feels completely unclear.

People talk about trusting God like it means feeling certain. But what if faith was never about certainty in the first place?

Acts 5 tells the story of people trying to move forward without having all the answers, and what trusting God actually looks like when life doesn’t make sense anymore.

Some people use faith to avoid conflict. Others use faith to justify outrage. Jesus does neither. The way of Jesus is deeper than rebellion and deeper than blind obedience. Sometimes love submits. Sometimes love resists. But real love is always willing to suffer for the good of others.

Most people don’t struggle with authority in theory. They struggle with actual people. The parent who controlled everything. The leader who abused power. The boss who made life miserable. The church environment where questions felt dangerous.

So what are you supposed to do when authority is wrong? Fight back? Stay quiet? Walk away? Obey anyway? And why does the Bible sometimes sound like it’s arguing with itself about obedience, protest, resistance, government, and submission?

Some of the earliest Christians openly defied authority. Others taught respect and honor. Somewhere between rebellion and obedience is a deeper question about love, courage, suffering, justice, and what faithfulness actually looks like when people are being harmed. Because not all resistance is brave. And not all obedience is good.

Why does following Jesus feel like losing? What does it mean to follow Jesus when life gets harder instead of easier?

Life can feel like you did everything right, and it still fell apart. Like everything was moving forward and then suddenly it wasn’t.

What if that doesn’t mean you lost? What if it means something else is going on that you’ve never been told?

Why do so many people like Jesus… but struggle with Christians?

It’s not just about beliefs. It’s about what people experience.

There’s a gap a lot of people feel but don’t always have words for. If you’ve ever wrestled with faith, felt pushed out, or wondered where you actually belong, this hits closer than you might expect.
