Atlanta, there’s something special about this city! From walks along the BeltLine to afternoons in Grant Park, coffee with a neighbor, and evenings spent around a table with friends, there are so many little ways to love the place we call home.

At Awaken Atlanta, we believe God has placed us here for a reason. We’re not just a church in Atlanta. We want to be a church for Atlanta, praying for our neighbors, serving our community, and helping our city come alive in Jesus. 🙌🏼

You can show up to church tomorrow morning… we just won’t be there. 😅

Consider this your friendly reminder that tomorrow is our All Church Sabbath! No service. No alarms. Take the morning to slow down, rest, spend time with people you love, and enjoy the Sabbath.

Neighborhood Small Groups start NEXT WEEK! 👏🏼 So if you’ve been seeing us talk about groups and thinking, “Yeah, I should probably sign up for that…” this is your sign!

We’ll have one Men’s Group and one Women’s Group, and both are simply about creating space to build real friendships, talk about life and Jesus, and actually do life with people in your neighborhood.

Nothing fancy. You don’t have to have everything figured out. Just show up. 🙌🏼

The people you love are still going to get on your nerves. They’ll say the wrong thing, disappoint you, or do something that genuinely hurts. Peter’s point isn’t that love makes those things painless. He’s saying love can become greater than the offense!

When we deeply love one another, we become less interested in keeping score and more willing to forgive. Some things don’t need retaliation, a grudge, or three conversations about what they did. Sometimes love can simply say, “That hurt, but I still love you.” 💚

Is there an offense you’ve been holding onto that you could choose to forgive?

“Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.”

Peter knew what it felt like to realize too late that he should’ve been praying. In the garden, Jesus told him to watch and pray. Peter slept. He thought there would be another morning with Jesus, another miracle, another crowd. He didn’t understand the weight of the moment he was standing in.

Years later, Peter tells the church: be sober-minded. Be alert. Pray.

There are moments in front of us right now that we don’t want to recognize only after they’ve passed. Pay attention. Take prayer seriously. Don’t sleep through what deserves your prayers. 🙏🏼

Awaken family, this Labor Day weekend we will not be gathering for our regular Sunday service. Instead, we’re taking an All Church Sabbath, an intentional opportunity to slow down, rest, spend time with the people we love, and enjoy the gift of Sabbath. 🙏🏼

We love gathering together every Sunday, but we also believe there’s something holy about making room to rest. So sleep in, spend time in the Word, share a meal, be with your people, get outside, and allow yourself to simply be present.

No service this Sunday. We’ll see you next week at 10AM! 🤍

Honestly, it can be easy to wish the week away in anticipation of the weekend. We get it. We've been there. But what if this week was different?

This week, we're waking up each morning and asking God to show us what He wants to do in and through us throughout the day. Will you join us? 🙏🏼

Prayer was never meant to become background noise in our lives. Yes, you can pray in the car, before dinner, or with your head on the pillow. Prayer doesn’t have to be rigid or lifeless! But it should have some intensity to it.

There are people in our neighborhood who need prayer. There are things happening in our own hearts that require us to stay alert. Sometimes we need to roll up our sleeves, get serious, and pray like prayer actually matters. 🙏🏼

Why should you sign up for a Neighborhood Small Group? Honestly, it’s pretty simple:

Because life is better when you have people to do it with! 🙌🏼

People who know your name. People you can grab dinner with. People who will pray for you when life gets heavy and celebrate with you when life is good. People you can ask real questions and talk about Jesus with without feeling like you need to have everything figured out.

That’s what Neighborhood Small Groups are about. It’s not another church thing to add to your calendar. It’s a chance to actually know people and be known by them. 💚

So, why should you sign up?

Because you need community. We all do. Come find yours. 🤝
