Awaken Atlanta

Awaken Atlanta A Neighborhood Church. We are a church you belong to before you believe and before you behave how a Christian is supposed to behave. Join us on Sundays at 10 AM!

This is a place you can discover truth, which we believe is found at the feet of Jesus.

Most people think prayer is just asking God for help. Prayer is so much more.

It is pouring out your soul to God. It is bringing Him your praise, your gratitude, your questions, your pain, and your faith. Prayer is not about having the right words. It is about bringing your real heart before a faithful God. πŸ™πŸΌπŸ€

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ What is one thing you need to be honest with God about today?

β€œTrust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.”
-Psalm 62:8 πŸ“–

When was the last time you actually felt rested? Not distracted. Not checked out. Not temporarily escaping. Actually rested.

A lot of us are carrying stress, pressure, anxiety, and exhaustion like it is just part of life. But Jesus never asked people to carry life alone.

One of the most comforting things about Jesus is that He welcomes tired people. He is not waiting for you to have everything together before coming to Him.

Real peace is not found in getting away from your life for a moment. It is found in staying close to the One who can sustain you through it. πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

Maybe what your soul needs most right now is not more striving. Maybe it is simply staying near to Jesus. 🀍

A famous person shares their testimony and everybody reposts it like revival just broke out. Meanwhile your coworker is falling apart quietly. Your friend is searching for purpose. Your neighbor feels completely alone.

We say we want God to move in our city, but most of us only get excited when He moves through people with influence. Jesus paid attention to ordinary people, the overlooked, the skeptical, the people nobody else noticed.

Maybe the next life God wants to change is not somebody on a stage. Maybe it is somebody already in your life. And maybe part of following Jesus is learning to care about people who can do nothing for your image.

πŸ’¬ What's one practical way you can love someone well and show them more of Christ this week? Share your thoughts! 🀍

Church hurt is real. Some of you have been judged, overlooked, manipulated, or wounded by people who represented Jesus poorly. And for that, we are deeply sorry.

The truth is, churches are filled with imperfect people. People fail each other. People misunderstand each other. Sometimes people use Jesus to control instead of love. That should not be ignored or brushed aside.

But bad experiences with people do not change who Jesus is.

At Awaken, we are not expecting you to walk in with everything figured out. Whether it has been years since you stepped into a church or you have never been at all, you are welcome here.

We would love to meet you tomorrow morning. πŸ’š

This Sunday, we’re starting something new. Not another self-help conversation. Not a list of rules. A real invitation to slow down, make space for God, and build a faith that actually lasts.

Our new series begins this Sunday at Awaken Atlanta, and we believe these conversations are going to challenge, encourage, and reshape the way we follow Jesus in everyday life.

If you’ve been searching for consistency, peace, or deeper purpose, this is the perfect Sunday to jump in. πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

People quit reading the Bible because they treat it like random quotes instead of a story. But Scripture makes more sense when it is read in context. Start at chapter one. Follow the narrative. Let the story unfold instead of jumping into the middle, confused and frustrated.

Before reading, pray and ask the Holy Spirit to lead you. God is not hiding truth from people. He wants to reveal it! πŸ™πŸΌ

β€œYour word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

What if the reason you feel exhausted is that you have been trying to carry things God never asked you to carry alone? A lot of us know how to stay busy, stay in control, and hold everything together, but surrender feels uncomfortable because it requires trust.

Jesus never told people to fix themselves before coming to Him. He said, β€œCome to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Real surrender is not giving up. It is finally letting God lead the parts of your life you have been gripping so tightly.

Maybe the answer is not trying harder. Maybe it is trusting deeper. πŸ™πŸΌπŸ€

Most people open the Bible looking for information when the real goal is transformation. Before reading Scripture, slow down and pray. Invite the Holy Spirit into the moment. Even a simple prayer like, β€œHoly Spirit, speak to me as I read your words,” can shift reading from routine to relationship. πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

The Bible was never meant to be rushed through. It is meant to be received.

πŸ’¬ We want to hear from you! What helps you quiet your mind before spending time with God?

β€œBut when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth.”
-John 16:13 πŸ“–

Culture rewards quick clips and short attention spans, but God often speaks in stillness, not speed. That’s why sitting with Scripture can feel so challenging. Distraction has become normal. Noise has become constant.

But transformation does not happen in passing moments. It happens when people slow down long enough to actually hear God. πŸ™πŸΌ

Maybe the problem is not that God is silent. Maybe there has just been too much noise.

πŸ’¬ What helps you slow down and focus on God?

β€œBut his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.”
-Psalm 1:2 πŸ“–
