With changes to the social safety net and immigration policy, food insecurity in our area is at an all-time high. There are two ways you can help!

* West End Food Pantry is seeking volunteers on Monday mornings from 9-11:30 to pack nonperishables and fresh produce for the weekly distribution. Packing volunteers do not need to serve every week, but will be part of a rotating team. Volunteers will be trained on 9/14.

* We are also considering shifting FPC’s 5th Monday commitment to the 3rd Monday of each month, and need a few more volunteers to support this from 4:30-7:00. (Pantry hours are 5-6:30.)

This past Sunday FPC was pleased to welcome National Capital Presbytery General Presbyter Rev. John Molina-Moore as our guest preacher. We also enjoyed the musical talents of our Parish Associate Rev. Dr. Mel O'Malley along with her daughter Sara.

The excitement is building, and so is our new kitchen dream! Thank you to everyone who has already donated to transform our kitchen into the 21st century. We're thrilled by the generosity taking shape but we're just getting started!

Here's a joyful way to join and do even more: our online auction launches September 7, and we need your gifts, talents, and treasures to make it shine. Whether you love to cook, bake, host, garden, or create, there's a place for you at this table. 🗂️ Going paperless?! Now is the time to shred those old tax returns, bank statements, medical records, and other sensitive papers!
Join Computer CORE for our FREE Community Shredding Event this Saturday, July 11, from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM at Fairlington Presbyterian Church. Sponsored by Gary Hughes, Realtor.
Bring your personal documents for secure, on-site shredding at no cost. Service is available until the truck is full, so come early!
If you're going paperless, this is the perfect opportunity to safely dispose of documents you no longer need. We're also accepting tax-deductible donations of refurbishable laptops to help someone else gain the digital skills they need for work, school, and life. (No other electronics this time. See us at a late summer or fall date TBD).
