Purim is almost here. Near the end of Megillah Esther, we read this is a time for “sending . . . presents to the poor.” Please fulfill this mitzvah of matanot l'evyonim: support AAC's Purim Food Drive for ALIVE!. When you come for megillah readings Saturday night and Sunday morning, bring easy-to-heat, easy-to-eat single serving foods (oatmeal packets, cereal bowls, tuna snacks, fruit cups, and mac ’n' cheese, for examples) for young kids whose parents work on weekends and for people with little or no access to full-service kitchens. Other basics like cooking oil, rice, pastas, or dried beans for the larger ALIVE! clientele are also welcome. You'll find a drop-off bin in the lobby just beyond the library door. No time to shop? Later donations can be placed in the back coatroom ALIVE! bin.
