Starting this Sunday, our September worship series, Love One Another, explores Jesus’ call to love one another as he has loved us. Around the table, Jesus showed us a different way to live—putting love into action and replacing “othering” with “neighboring.”

Faith in action.

Last week, a group from Fairlington joined thousands in Washington, D.C. for the March on Washington: Defend the Vote, gathering on the 63rd anniversary of the historic 1963 March on Washington. Together, people of many generations, faiths, and communities marched for voting rights, equal opportunity, and economic dignity. We’re grateful to those from Fairlington who showed up and joined their voices with so many others.

What a joyful way to wrap up our Esther series! 🎉

On Sunday, we celebrated the story of Esther together and finished our series with a Purim-adjacent meal filled with good food, fellowship, and fun.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the celebration so special—and to everyone who joined us around the table. We’re grateful for this community and for all we’ve explored together through the story of Esther.

🍗 Chicken BBQ + Yard Sale = a Saturday well spent!

Join us at Fairlington UMC on Saturday, September 12, from 10:30 AM–2 PM for our Annual Chicken BBQ & Yard Sale! Enjoy some great food and browse yard sale finds, including tools, toolboxes, and plenty of other treasures.

Want to sell your own treasures? 10' x 10' yard sale spaces are available with a suggested $20 donation, and no pre-registration is required.

Proceeds from the BBQ support local Scouts and other community services. Come eat, shop, and spend the afternoon with us!

As we conclude our journey through the Book of Esther, we'll discover how God can bring light out of even the darkest circumstances. Join us as we reflect on this powerful story of courage, faith, and hope—and the reminder that God is always at work, even when we can't yet see the ending.

Esther 5–7 reminds us that even when we can't see the whole picture, God is still at work. Join us as we continue exploring this remarkable story and discover what it has to teach us about faith, courage, and trusting God's timing.
