This week, we're celebrating Zendaya as an actress, producer, fashion icon, and a powerful voice for women and girls.

Both in her boundary-pushing work on screen and advocacy behind the scenes, Zendaya has used her platform to champion representation, mental health, and the power of young women to own their stories. Through her work and her voice, Zendaya reminds us that feminism is rooted in fairness, inclusion, and the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive.

As we welcome Shabbat, may we be inspired by Zendaya's boldness, her commitment to lifting others up, and her belief in the power of women.

Shabbat Shalom!

Daffodil of the day, ‘Golden Dawn’.

Golden Dawn is one of the last to bloom but the earliest to come up. It comes up in November and its foliage gets burned on the tips but it produces more flowers per stem and more stems per bulb than any other daffodil I have. It also has multiplied more than any other of the over 100 different cultivars I have and it is very fragrant.

• A JOYful Pondering • And maybe we are all like wildflowers: learning how to grow and flourish in unexpected places. ~E.V. Rogina

… you may just surprise yourself at what you can accomplish if you make an intention to bloom where you’re planted!

Virginia Woolf’s perspective on art challenges traditional notions of beauty, suggesting that the essence of art lies in its ability to offer unique interpretations and insights. This idea resonates deeply in various artistic movements, where the focus shifts from merely aesthetic appeal to the exploration of perception, emotion, and experience.

115 years ago today, 146 workers died in the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire.

Most were young immigrant women. Many were Jewish. The doors had been locked by their employers.

Their deaths sparked a generation of Jewish women activists who refused to accept that workers were expendable — and a labor reform movement that changed America. We carry their legacy.
