📣Calling all NOVA renters and anyone who works closely with tenants!

🗓️On Thursday, June 18th, VOICE, Virginia Poverty Law Center, and Allies for Housing Action (Housing Opportunities Made Equal of Virginia (HOME)) are co-hosting an information session to:
📄Provide practical info on new tenant protection laws
❓Answer questions about what these changes mean for renters
💬Discuss housing challenges in your communities

‼️We especially encourage renters, clergy, congregational leaders, social ministry volunteers, community advocates, and anyone who regularly works with tenants to attend.

The Rev'd Jo-Ann Murphy led our services and delivered a great sermon about "Letting Go." With her visit, she came full circle: She was a seminarian at Resurrection in 1987, ordained a Priest at Resurrection in 1988, and returned as a 'Supply Priest' on May 17, 2026.

A good short read on something near and dear to Ressurection's heart:

Last fall, AHC launched the RISE program, helping residents like Dan build toward greater financial stability.

Launched in partnership with the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, Alexandria VA and Britepaths, RISE combines rent relief with matched savings and financial skill-building.

Dan has already saved several hundred dollars — beyond the program's $10 monthly contribution — giving him the flexibility to visit family and give back to his community without added financial stress.

“Every little bit helps,” Dan said. “It eases pressures with budgets, and it’s a very generous program.”
