Our Director of Music, Alex Woodrow, is taking on a massive summer walking challenge, covering 104 miles in 6 days and playing organ recitals along the route. He aims to raise awareness of, and funding for, the Choral Scholarship programme at the Minster that supports the musical development of students who sing with the Minster Choir. 🎶🚶♂️ Introducing The Hiking Organist 🚶♂️🎶
This July, Alex Woodrow, Organist of Leeds Minster, will walk 104 miles from Leeds to Scarborough along the White Rose Way, giving a series of organ recitals in churches across Yorkshire to raise funds for the Leeds Minster Choral Scholarship programme.
Over 6 days, 104 miles and 6 recitals, the project will support the next generation of young musicians and help choral music continue to thrive at Leeds Minster.
