Manchester Cathedral was buzzing! On Sunday, around 400-500 people moved around the Cathedral, joining with seven culturally distinct music and dance groups. My highlight was the grand finale, when an explosion of worship expressions came together in a truly intercultural way, bringing together three kinds of expression: culturally unique expressions, multilingually integrated songs, and, accompanied by the Resonance Band, an explosion of collaborative, innovative, interactive, worship in which brightly costumed African and Chinese dancers created shared moves, and Persian singers initiated a circle dance — all to the glory of the triune God. Congratulations to Revd Canon David Onabanjo, visionary host and organiser of the event, who personally joined in the dance.
