🚶‍♀️✏️ This September, join us in following the footsteps of the women who helped shape Leeds.

Gather with Leeds Sanctuary and local artist and historian Clifford Stead for a Sketch Walk exploring the city's rich Suffragette history. As we journey through the city centre, we'll learn about the women who campaigned for political rights and social change, while taking time to sketch the places connected to their stories.

Along the way, we'll also reflect on what women's rights mean in Leeds today, and the work that still remains.

A part of Judith’s Chaplaincy work is running a regular Coffee and Cake afternoon for some of the residents of St George’s Crypt.

"I paused at the Coffee and Cake group this afternoon to watch and listen. A beautiful community has grown here. The residents live in self-contained flats, and some can feel socially isolated. This group gives them something to look forward to: not only to eat cake, but to meet one another, get to know each other, talk through problems, share stories, and simply enjoy time together. It is a joy to witness.”

Led by local artist and historian Clifford Stead, this Sketch Walk will explore the history of Black communities in Leeds and celebrate those who have paved the way towards racial justice.
