Hello friends, your input would be much appreciated:

We have been actively posting lots of beautiful homemade Buddhist images on The Buddhist Place's Instagram account (), such as meditations, quotes, and other inspirational food for your practice. It seems a shame that those who don't have instagram accounts can't see any of it.

We don't automatically repost to Facebook to avoid cluttering your feeds, but is there interest in perhaps a Facebook post per week with this content? We could do a weekly roundup. Or would you prefer we kept it on our Instagram?

Thank you!

Wesak Celebration at The Buddhist Place

May 2, 2026 at St John’s Church

The Buddhist Place will be celebrating Wesak or ‘Buddha Day’ at the regular 8:30 am Saturday morning meditation on May 2, 2026.

At Wesak celebrations, Buddhists around the world commemorate the Buddha’s birth, enlightenment and death. Celebrations are held on or near the time of the full moon in May. In celebrating at the Buddhist Place we will be recognizing the life and teachings of the Buddha with a devotional practice – a short ritual including sitting and walking meditation and chanting.

There will also be an opportunity to recollect and renew taking refuge in Buddha, Dharma and Sangha and the Five Precepts.

As part of the celebration you are invited to bring along Buddha statues and potted or cut flowers as offerings to the shrine.

All participation is optional whether it be bringing an offering for the shrine, bowing, chanting or taking the precepts. You are welcome to join us as an opportunity to reflect on your personal practice as you experience this devotional practice in a welcoming, inclusive space.

Please arrive by 8:15 to have time to help set up and to settle in. The outer door will be locked at 8:30.

Dear Friends,
You are invited to join Molly Swan and Norman Feldman on Zoom for 3 evenings, April 12, 13, and 14 (in addition to the regular morning Buddhist Place sittings on April 13 and 14) to cultivate community, to sit together, to engage in gentle Dhamma and practice discussions and questions, directed by what feels relevant and important to you.

The evenings will be from 6:30-8:30pm, beginning with sitting together for about a half-hour, with perhaps a few words of guidance and encouragement, and then a discussion or Dhamma Talk or Q&A. We would appreciate you participating in the evening sessions in their entirety.

The mornings will be silent sitting 7-7:45am. We will take questions after that, from anyone interested, about practice.

This is freely offered by Norman and Molly. If you wish, Dana can be offered to help support The Buddhist Place.

If you have any questions or would like to register and receive the Zoom link for the retreat, please contact Ellie [email protected]
