St John's celebrates our 200th Anniversary Weekend starting tomorrow!

We're participating in Doors Open Peterborough on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The church will be open for free tours throughout the day. Director of Music Bob Grandy will play the organ throughout the morning, the Hollow Woods Recorder Consort will have an open practice starting at 1:30 and parishioner David Hoyle will play piano music later in the afternoon. Drop by for a visit to Peterborough's oldest church and check out the historical display with artifacts, art, and photos!

On Sunday, a special Anniversary Worship Service will take place at 10:00 a.m. The Right Reverend Andrew Asbil, Bishop of Toronto, will preside and preach. A light lunch will follow in the Guild Hall. All are welcome to celebrate in worship!

What a wonderful celebration of Creation this afternoon, with Anglicans and Lutherans from across the city gathering at Christ Lutheran Church for worship, feasting, and fellowship! We're ready for the Season of Creation, which runs from September 1st to October 4th. We got photos of worship but seemed to be too busy eating, chatting, and playing games on the lawn to get photos of the rest of the evening!

Today's the day! Join with Lutherans and Anglicans from across the deanery as we celebrate the Feast of the Creator and launch the Season of Creation!

Save the date--Saturday, August 29th--for this joyful gathering. The Feast of the Creator is the newest addition to the liturgical calendar and we will be celebrating with a gathering for all ages to worship, feast, and play. Watch this space for more information!
