Oasis Church Kempton Park

Oasis Church Kempton Park Our lead pastors, Stefan & Marlise van der Merwe, have a heart to reach our city and beyond with the life transforming message of Jesus. Love People.

They believe in the next generation and value the wisdom and guidance of those that have come before us. In 1997, Sarel and Thiesa van der Merwe saw the need for restoration and healing of the Church of Jesus Christ, and the counselling and ministry to broken and sick people. This includes marriage counselling and setting people free from demonic influences. In 2019, Dr Sarel & Thiesa gave over th

e church to Stefan and Marlise, who have from then prayed and pressed in for the new season that we are moving into, refreshed and renewed for the time we are moving in now. We believe in igniting a movement of radical lovers that transforms our community and the world! Following these simple instructions: Love God. Change the world. Since its inception, Oasis has experienced significant influence in the community and South Africa. Now, even more, we believe we will influence our people and surroundings to the Father

Join us each Sunday morning from 8h15 at church for fun family fellowship time & our Sunday service from 9am (live in person or on Facebook streaming)

The enemy doesn't need to stay in your life if he can stay in your heart. One of his most effective weapons is unforgiveness. Because unforgiveness keeps wounds open, replays old conversations,
and ties today's peace to yesterday's pain. The enemy knows that if he can't destroy you, he'll try to distract you, delay you, and drain you through bitterness.

"Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger... Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."
— Ephesians 4:31-32

This week we were reminded:
- Sincerity is not the same as fullness
- Theology is not the same as encounter
- God is looking for marked lives
- The Spirit gives power for breakthrough and endurance
- One encounter can reorient an entire life

Peter was sincere before Pentecost.
Paul was zealous before Damascus.

But everything changed when the Spirit marked them.
The question isn’t: “Do you believe?”
The deeper question is: “Have you been marked?”

May our lives carry undeniable evidence of His presence.

Join us this Sunday as we start our Nothing | No Thing Series

Some things can shake you. Some things can wound you. Some things can change your season.

But NO thing can separate you from the love of God.
Not fear. Not failure. Not your past. Not even the battles you’re facing right now.

Not trained eloquence. Not polished religion. Not impressive credentials. Presence.

Something about them carried evidence. This is the invitation of the Spirit, not just to know about Jesus… but to be marked by Him. May our lives speak before our mouths ever do.

“Lord, I trust You with what I cannot see.”

Some of God’s greatest work happens behind closed doors. In the waiting. In the silence. In the moments where nothing seems to be changing.

The Shunammite woman reminds us:
Faith doesn’t stop when answers are delayed. God is still moving even when you cannot see His hands.

This week we learned:
- Faith takes initiative
- God cares about buried disappointments
- Go to God first—not just people
- Honest prayer is still faith
- God works behind closed doors

One of the strongest reminders:
You don’t have to pretend everything is okay before God.

Faith is not denying pain. Faith is holding onto Him in the middle of it. And even when the door is closed… God is still working inside the room.

Keep trusting. Keep bringing it to Him. Keep believing.

Not every battle needs a broadcast. Some burdens were never meant for crowds, opinions, or people who don’t carry the grace to help heal them.

The Shunammite woman knew where her answer was. Even while carrying heartbreak, she guarded her words until she reached the prophet. She didn’t stop to explain her pain to everyone on the road. She went straight to the one connected to the solution.

We need discernment to know where to take what we’re dealing with. Not every ear is safe. Not every voice is wise. Not every person has oil for your situation.

Take your fears to the Father. Take your grief to the One who restores. Take your questions to the One who already sees the ending.

What if abiding in God is less about emotion… and more about staying?
In this teaching from John 15, we unpack Jesus’ invitation to live continually connected to Him—not just through spiritual moments, but through a daily life of remaining, dwelling, and staying near.

You are not trying to reach a distant God. The invitation is simply: return.
Stop visiting. Start dwelling.
