Time To Top Up

Many years ago, I became very ill. I had a problem swallowing, and the food often became stuck, sometimes for a few days at a time. When that happened, I couldn’t even drink water because nothing would go down.

The Lord healed me of this problem. But I remember how before this happened, I became so parched and dry. The one thing I wanted more than anything else was to grab a big glass of water and gulp it down. When the healing came and I could do that, it was one of the best things I have ever experienced!

Well, it is not only in the natural where water is essential to keep you going. In your spiritual life, the same thing can happen. Water in the Bible is a symbol of the anointing presence of the Lord. When you are short on it, you feel spiritually dry and dead. You can’t seem to feel His presence, and everything seems to be hard to do.

I think David knew this problem because he wrote about it in Psalm 42:1. He says,

As the deer yearns for the water brooks, so my soul yearns for you, O God.

Your soul contains your mind, emotions, and will. And, as I’m sure you know, your emotions are a key to feeling full of life and enthusiasm. When your soul is dry, it will affect all your emotions negatively. You might feel depressed, irritable, or just feel blah and have no motivation to get up and go.

Everyone has been through something like what I have described here. Perhaps you are going through something like this right now. What is the solution? My husband wrote a song that shares the problem and the solution so well.

Let the River Flow Once Again

My soul is thirsty and dry
For your river has dried up inside
I need a new touch from on high
I need you Lord by my side

Let Your Spirit move in my heart

Holy Spirit, come and have your way

My Prayer

If you are feeling dry and in need of a touch from the Lord, I want to pray for you now.

“Thank you, Lord, that You are the One who meets all our needs and desires in this life. Lord, You want us to walk in the abundant life that You have for us. So thank you for Your power and anointing flowing through each person now.

I stand against every attack of the enemy that is trying to squash Your Spirit flowing through Your people, Lord. I thank you that the anointing breaks the yoke. And I pray now that that anointing would flow out in revival power. May You touch and restore each one to every blessing and abundance that You have for them.

Thank you for doing it, Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”

His Timing is Perfect
-
Galatians 4:4 and 5 says this.

But when the time of waiting was over, God sent his Son, made from a woman, made under the law,
To redeem those that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. [GBMV]

We as humans can get very impatient if we want something to happen, but it doesn’t seem to happen quickly enough. Perhaps you are single and waiting to meet your spouse. You have prayed about it, and now you are trusting that any day your future husband or wife will appear.

The trouble is it might seem to be taking so long to come about. I do believe, however, that the Lord has a perfect timing for everything you are waiting on Him for.

You need to remember that if you are trusting the Lord for something, the angels will often have to get involved in bringing about the answer to your prayers. They may have move things into place, or remove obstacles that are standing in the way of the answer. You may never know what is happening, but be assured that the Lord is moving and working on your behalf.

I was recently reading about Joseph, after he was thrown into prison. He interpreted a dream for the butler after Pharaoh threw him into jail, and said that he would be restored to his position in three days. Then in Genesis 40:14 it says,

But think on me when it will be well with you, and show kindness, I pray you, to me, and make mention of me to Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house: [GBMV]

Well, human nature is such that people forget about things and get on with their lives, which is what happened here. It says at the beginning of Genesis 41, that Joseph stayed in prison for 2 full years before Pharaoh had the dreams.

But do you realize that although his situation seemed hopeless, the Lord had made a plan already? Joseph’s imprisonment was unjust. But if he wasn’t thrown into jail and put in charge of the prisoners, he would not have been able to interpret the butler’s dream.

And if the butler had not met Joseph in prison, he would not have known someone to interpret Pharaoh’s dreams. This, of course, led to Egypt being abundantly blessed, and also the countries around Egypt being blessed because they could get food in their time of famine.

Does your situation seem to be like Joseph’s? Do you feel like nothing is happening in the spirit, like you are stuck and going nowhere? Maybe you have little hope for the future, even though you have cried out to the Lord to intervene in your situation.

But don’t lose hope, child of God. Perhaps, like Joseph, you need to meet someone that the Lord can use to bring about a change for you. Whatever you do, keep your faith in the field. And know without a doubt that the Lord has not left you and is in control of your life.

My Prayer

Thank you, Lord, that You have the perfect timing to answer every need or desire. Thank you, angels of God, for continuing to move on each person’s behalf, and causing all the pieces to come together.

I speak blessing on you. May you continue to see the Lord moving in your situation in wonderful ways.

Happy Birthday Daphne
-
Tomorrow is a special day. It is the birthday of my mom, and the spiritual mother of this ministry, Daphne Crause.

My mom turns 68 this year. If you have been following this ministry, then I am sure you have been blessed by her.

My mom always keeps going. When I am down, she always remains faithful and full of hope. When you are negative, she likes to always see the positive.

She has a wonderful ability to inspire and show you, in a simple way, what the Word of God says. When she teaches, it is always a blessing.

So I would like you to join us in celebrating her special day, and saying Happy Birthday!

Each year, we celebrate this day because it is special in more than one way. It is also a spiritual new year for this ministry. We have many exciting plans for this ministry as we go into the future, and she is going to be a very special part of it.

I thank the Lord for keeping her with us for another year. I pray that the year ahead will be the best season of her life. May the Lord meet all the desires of her heart.

Walking in Favor
-
Psalm 5:12 says this.

For you, O Lord, will bless the righteous; with favor you will surround him as with a shield. (Psalm 5:12)

As a believer, you have become a shining light in the dark world around you. And when others sense that light and the blessing that you are carrying, it should bring about a positive response in them towards you. They may not even realize what is happening in them, but it is still very real.

At one stage in my spiritual life, I thought that I had to do something to earn the Lord’s favor, but I was wrong. This Scripture was from the Old Testament, before they even had salvation, and it still says that the Lord will bless you and surround you with favor. This means that favor should go with you wherever you go.

I was reading the account of Joseph recently, when he ended up in Egypt. He just seemed to flow in favor without even trying, and that favor, of course, led to abundant blessing in the end.

When you are walking in favor, the signs are very clear. You cannot mistake them. This is an excerpt from one of my daily devotions, from 26 January.

“What is going on here? I have never experienced anything like this in my life. This is awesome!”

My husband said this to me one day as we were walking through a shopping mall. We had been shopping for shoes, and it just seemed that no matter where we went we had favor.

People we passed in the mall smiled at us. That day the shop assistants were friendly and very efficient. Usually we found them sour and uninterested. This time they went out of their way to help us.

We went for something to eat, and even the waitresses who weren’t serving us were friendly and helpful. I just lifted up the lid of a soup pot to look inside, and suddenly someone was there to tell me what type of soup it was. I didn’t even ask her to help me.

As we discussed what had happened, we realized that the Lord had indeed given us favor. It was as though we were a magnet that just attracted His favor towards us. We didn’t even have to try. It just took place automatically.

What About You?

Are you walking in favor this day? When the Lord’s favor is upon you, it will open doors of opportunity and blessing for you as well. I hope this is the case. If not, maybe it seems like disfavor is following you. People are nasty to you, and there are signs of strife and conflict everywhere.

If this is happening to you, then there would seem to be an open door to the enemy to bring bad things into your life. Bitterness often opens the door, so it would be a good idea to see if there is something like this in your life.

Things like this happen because we are sinful creatures. It is, however, easy to shut that door. Just let it go, repent and forgive whoever you were in conflict with. The Lord loves you, and He wants you to walk in blessing and favor. Let me pray for you now, stand against the enemy on your behalf, and release that blessing into your life.

“Lord, I lift up whoever is reading this now and speak abundant blessing and favor into their life. I thank you that you desire us to walk in favor.

And now Satan, I come against you and command you to take your hands off whoever is reading this. I command that any open doors that you have in their lives be closed, so that you no longer have access to attack them. Even if they are not aware of anything, I shut any open doors and take back any ground on their behalf, in the name of Jesus.

Thank you for doing this now, Lord.”

May you be abundantly blessed this day, and may the Lord open the way for every good thing to come into your life.
