Fall Semester Life Kids Challenge:

Learning the Big Picture Questions!

Our new Life Kids Challenge is here! This semester, our kids will be learning some Big Picture Questions and Answers from our Sunday School curriculum, helping them build a strong foundation of biblical truth.

Our goal isn't simply for kids to memorize the “right answers.” We want them to know the God those answers describe. We want these truths to move from their heads to their hearts. Starting with these foundational questions about God gives our kids a framework for understanding everything else they will learn in Scripture. As they grow, we want them to know who God is, what He is like, what He has done, and why that matters for their lives.

Parents, we would love for you to practice these questions and answers with your children at home. The more we hear and talk about God's truth together, the more deeply it becomes rooted in us.

Perks of mastering the challenge for their age group?

September Prayer Focus: Kindness & Compassion

Colossians 3:12
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.”

Our prayer for Life Kids this month:
God, make our children compassionate.
We pray that kindness and compassion will become characteristics that mark the lives of our children because Christ is at work in their hearts.
We pray that God would give them eyes to notice people who are hurting, hearts that care when others are struggling, and hands that are willing to help.
We pray that their compassion would extend beyond their friends to the lonely, the difficult, the overlooked, and even those who may not treat them kindly.

NO KIDS’ CHURCH TOMORROW!

Tomorrow our kids will be joining us in the worship service as we observe the Lord’s Supper.

Will they sit perfectly still? Probably not. 😂
Will they wiggle, whisper, and maybe make you question your parenting skills? Possibly. 😅
But will they have the opportunity to watch, learn, and participate in worship with the church family? Absolutely. ❤️

The Lord’s Supper is a meaningful time for us to remember Jesus’ sacrifice and what He has done for us. We want our kids to see and understand that this is an important part of the life of the church.

And parents, we’ve got you! The Life Kids’ table will be stocked with activities to keep little hands busy during the service. 🖍️

So bring the kids, bring your patience, and maybe bring an emergency snack. 😂🍪

🎪🎟️ BACK TO SCHOOL BIG TOP! 🎟️🎪

What a way to kick off a new school year! Life Kids had a BIG time at our Back to School Bash! From carnival games and fun to plenty of smiles and laughter, it was a night full of BIG-TOP fun! 🎈🍿

We’re praying over each of our Life Kids as they head into a new school year, that they would be bold, kind, joyful, and always remember that God is with them wherever they go! ❤️

💙 LIFE KIDS IN ACTION! 💙

Sloan & Hart Stanley hosted a lemonade stand and raised over $200 for the Backpack Program that Abundant Life sponsors in two local schools! Their generosity is helping provide food for kids who may need a little extra help over the weekend. What an incredible example of using what you have to bless others! 🍋🙌🏻

And there’s something extra special about this story. Their grandfather, Brad Stanley, helps organize the Backpack Program outreach each week. Through his own example of faithfully serving others, Brad is showing his granddaughters what it means to have a heart for people and to use what God has given you to make a difference.

What a beautiful picture of one generation showing the next what a life of service looks like! 💙

Serving others starts young! ☺️

This month’s Life Kids Mission Night focused on Doings, the way we serve others through our actions and show the love of Christ in practical ways.

Our kids welcomed guest deacons, Ethan Price and Brad Stanley, who lead our Backpack Ministry. They got to see exactly what goes into each weekend backpack and learned how these bags provide food for children who may not have enough to eat over the weekend.

Last year, our Backpack Ministry served 45 students in two local schools. What an incredible way our church is loving our community! 🎉

Brad and Ethan also shared how blessed our church is to be able to support a ministry like this and make a tangible difference in the lives of local families.

Thank you, Brad and Ethan, for sharing your hearts with our kids and for your doings that point people toward Jesus. We pray God continues to bless this ministry! ❤️
