Unity Fellowship’s “Love Wins” Pride Service was a beautiful and deeply meaningful celebration of faith, love, inclusion and community.
Rather than a traditional worship format, the service was shaped by powerful personal testimonies and the lived experiences of incredible individuals who shared their hearts with honesty, courage, and grace. We were reminded throughout the morning that when we make space for authentic stories, we make space for healing, connection, and transformation.
We were honored to welcome several guest speakers whose journeys touched everyone present. Each story reflected faith, resilience, authenticity and love in powerful ways !
Karen Edwards - author of several books including "My Kid is Gay and I’m Ok", founder of the non-profit MKGOK, and podcast host, who continues to be a strong voice for affirmation and understanding.
Jenna Morrison - one of our newer congregants at Unity, a cherished friend to many, who joined us virtually and shared her journey of faith and life experience with openness and sincerity.
Dr. Bobbie Glass, Ed.D. — a professor, author, speaker, diversity trainer, longtime LGBTQ+ advocate, and conversion therapy survivor whose life and work continue to uplift and educate toward safer, more affirming communities.
We also joyfully welcomed local drag performer Sanora Q. Zahara, who brought energy and heart to the service with a beautiful performance of “Good to be Home,” adding a celebratory and affirming spirit to the morning.
Each moment of the service reflected our shared belief that every person is created with dignity and purpose and that there is always room for every voice at God’s table. The message was clear and powerful... love, in all its forms, truly does win !!
We are also deeply grateful for the spirit of unity and collaboration that continues beyond our sanctuary. Immediately following the service, the Owensboro Blue Bridge Pride Annual Pride Picnic was held, an event Unity Fellowship has proudly supported and hosted since 2020. This year’s gathering was an incredible success, with an estimated 600 people in attendance, celebrating community, joy, and belonging together.
By the end of the day , I was exhausted , but very fulfilled. It was an amazing feeling, knowing that we had created a safe space for people to both worship and to celebrate their very existence. I personally felt Creator's presence down deep .
From all of us on the Ministry Team, we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated, attended, shared, and supported this sacred and celebratory day. It was a true reflection of what happens when love leads the way.
Happy Pride Month to all
You are loved. You are welcome. You belong !!!
