Lesson 11: Faith in the Cross

David declared, “I will not offer burnt offerings to the LORD my God that cost me nothing.” Genuine worship begins with repentance and responds to God’s grace with surrender. Yet the greatest sacrifice was not David’s—it was Jesus Christ, who gave Himself completely at the Cross for our redemption. Salvation is free to us, but it cost Jesus everything.

May we refuse to give the One who gave everything for us only the leftovers of our lives.

Sunday Recap | Jesus Washed Their Feet | John 13:1–17

This morning we were reminded that the Lord of Glory took up a towel before He took up the Cross. Jesus came not to be served, but to serve—and ultimately to give His life as a ransom for many.

Following Christ is more than something we do on Sundays; it is who we are because of what He has done for us. Those who have been cleansed by His grace are called to humbly serve others, reflecting the love and sacrifice of our Savior in everyday life.

May we never be too proud to carry the towel, because our Lord was never too proud to carry the Cross.

Sunday Recap | Can Any Good Come From My Suffering?

Suffering is never easy, but God’s Word reminds us that it is never wasted. This morning, from 2 Corinthians 7:8–12, we saw that God can use our pain to produce repentance, strengthen our faith, and reveal the sufficiency of His grace. Whether our suffering comes through the consequences of our choices or simply from living in a fallen world, we can trust that our sovereign God is working for our good and His glory. The cross itself is the greatest proof that God can bring eternal purpose from suffering.
