Kids and preschoolers are ready to kick off new themes for the month of September!

Elementary kids will learn the Simple Truth “I Am Valued,” through the superstar Theme "VIP". We will teach kids that they are valued by God because God made them with worth, seeks them, made them on purpose, and sent Jesus for them.

Our September Big Deal for preschoolers is, “Wild and Wonderful! God Values Me!” Preschoolers will have a fun adventure as they learn about the unique and special ways God created them and how much He values them. We will teach that God made us with worth, He celebrates us, He made us on purpose, and He sent Jesus for us.

Be here this Sunday starting at 9:45 to check out the fun. Reminder, this Sunday is a Unified Worship day, so elementary students will stay in the 11:00 service with their families.

Today was Promotion Sunday and we welcomed all the new kindergarteners! Mr. Scott and Ms. Ann were also so kind to supply and lead some “school supply bingo” for all elementary kiddos.

Challenge your family to build a house out of blocks on cushions, then push down and up on the cushions and see if the house falls. Next, build a house on the floor or a hard surface. Stomp or pat the area around the house and see if it falls. Like the house built on the rock in this week’s Bible story, the house on the hard surface is the one that stays strong. We can stay strong and live like Jesus when we have a strong foundation in Him.

In Matthew 7, Jesus explained that when we listen to and follow Him, we are like people who built their house on rock. Winds and storms will come, but a house stands strong when it is built on the right foundation. Jesus taught that we can live like Him by having the right foundation—a relationship with Him.

Show your elementary kids images of building foundations and connect them to the foundation we can have when we follow God and live like Jesus.

Play a game of follow-the-leader with your preschoolers. Talk to them about how in the game, they will do what the leader does. Remind your preschoolers that we can follow our leader, Jesus, and live like Him.
