The difference between volunteering and giving our lives. As Christians we are supposed to give up our lives and follow Jesus. The life we now live we live for Christ. A example of a couple at my church (Common Ground Church) Shannon and Mindy Holliday, that really encourages me, and shows when we give our all, what God can really do! They started a food pantry about 2 1/2 years ago, with a church that supports dreams and vision. They didn't just volunteer some of their time, they gave their lives to it! And as a result 200-300 hundred people are fed every week, and is the 3rd largest food out reach in the state. Now I know what they do takes work! Mindy works 2 full time jobs to help make this happen. Shannon practically works 7 days a week, days and nigthts, running the food pantry. Plus having a family with 2 kids. My point is, when we give up our lives to Christ and do what he called us to do, its not always easy or convenient. I'm sure many days they are tired and worn out, but knowing because of their sacrifice and obedience, bellies are fed that might not otherwise be fed, and people are touched and shown the love of Christ, there is nothing more rewarding and fulfilling then that. So if you read this, Be inspired to not just give a little of your life, give it all, sacrifice! give up the things that don't matter for the things that do! And watch what God can do!
