One week into Open Hands, and we’re still asking the question that runs through this whole series: “God, what do You want me to do with what You have placed in my hands?” 🙌
Week 1 recap: It’s Not Mine (1 Chronicles 29:10-14)
Everything we have is from God. “All things come from You, and of Your own have we given You.” We aren’t owners. We’re stewards of a sovereign and generous God.
Up next: Grace in Your Hands (1 Peter 4:10-11)
Every gift we hold is grace, given freely and never earned. It was never meant to stop with us. It’s meant to serve others, “in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ.”
🙏 How we’re praying for you this week
As you open your booklet and the Scriptures, we’re praying that the Holy Spirit would do what only He can do. We’re praying He takes His Word and uses it to change hearts. We aren’t asking that you’d try harder. We’re asking that God, who began a good work in you, would carry it on to completion (Philippians 1:6). We’re praying He would loosen what we grip, renew our minds, and conform us more to the image of His Son. When our hands open, it won’t be our doing. It will be the fruit of His grace. To Him be the glory.
This Sunday, November 1, is also our Ordination Celebration! There’s one service only, at 10:00 AM at our Sebastopol campus. Dress formal, and don’t forget to set your clocks back an hour Saturday night. ⏰
