Reflecting on Easter Sunday at Hessel Church
The glory of Easter is not found in our feelings, our experiences, or the things happening around us. It rests entirely on the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ — and on nothing else.
What an amazing God we serve! In His perfect love and sovereign grace, the eternal Son of God took on flesh, bore our sins in His body on the cross, and suffered the full wrath of God in our place. Then, on the third day, He rose triumphantly from the grave, defeating death forever and securing eternal life for all who trust in Him.
As Scripture declares: “Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, he was buried, and he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).
This is the unshakable foundation of the Christian faith — the finished work of Christ alone. Our hope does not depend on us, but on the living Savior who conquered the grave. Because He lives, forgiveness is real. Because He rose, our salvation is secure.
What an amazing God — sovereign in mercy, mighty in power, and faithful to every promise!
He is risen indeed!
