Thanks to the daily cathedral services, pilgrims visiting the relics of St. John, and the fact that the cathedral is open all day, it is not uncommon that on weekdays remarkable encounters take place in the cathedral. 6 сентября 2026 года, в Неделю 14-ю по Пятидесятнице, Высокопреосвященнейший Кирилл, архиепископ Сан-Францисский и Западно-Американский, совершил Божественную литургию в Кафедральном соборе Пресвятой Богородицы «Всех скорбящих Радости» в Сан-Франциско.

Его Высокопреосвященству сослужило духовенство собора. Иерейский чин возглавил ключарь собора протоиерей Петр Перекрестов.

Богослужебные песнопения исполнил хор Кафедрального собора под управлением Владимира Красовского.

По окончании Божественной литургии Высокопреосвященнейший владыка Кирилл обратился к духовенству и молящимся с архипастырским словом.

On September 6, 2026, the 14th Sunday after Pentecost, His Eminence Kyrill, Archbishop of San Francisco and Western America, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Virgin Cathedral “Joy of All Who Sorrow” in San Francisco.

Concelebrating with His Eminence were the clergy of the Cathedral. The priestly rank was led by the Cathedral Dean, Archpriest Peter Perekrestov.

The liturgical hymns were sung by the Cathedral choir under the direction of Vladimir Krasovsky.

At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence Archbishop Kyrill addressed the clergy and faithful with an archpastoral word.

September 4 - Glory to God! The restoration of the cathedral cupola crosses was completed today.

24 июля приход приступил к обновлению соборных крестов. Кресты краном были сняты с куполов и теперь находятся в ремонте. Даст Бог, обновленные кресты будут готовы и установлены на первой неделе сентября. Обновление крестов - один из многочисленных соборных проектов в связи с приближающимся в 2027 году 100-летием соборного прихода. On July 24, the parish began restoring the cathedral's crosses. The crosses were removed from the domes by a crane and are now undergoing restoration. God willing, the renewed crosses will be ready and installed during the first week of September. The restoration of the crosses is one of many parish projects in preparation for its 100th anniversary in 2027. Those wishing to contribute to the restoration of the crosses may do so online:

7 июля кафедральный собор посетил детский хор из Тбилиси. После экскурсии по храму дети спели песнопение Богородице, а также многолетствование епископу Манхеттенскому Феодосию.

On July 7, a children's choir from Tbilisi visited the cathedral. After a tour of the cathedral, the children sang a hymn to the Mother of God and "Many years" to Bishop Theodosius of Manhattan.

🔴По благословению Архиепископа Кирилла, в Пятницу 4 Сентября в Кафедральный Собор "Всех Скорбящих Радость" в Сан-Франциско прибывает икона Покрова Пресвятой Богородицы "Кругосветная".

Икона пробудет в Соборе на Вечернем богослужении в Пятницу 4 Сентября, Субботу утром 5 Сентября на Божественной Литургии и на Всенощном бдении. В Воскресенье утром 6 Сентября икона будет на Божественной Литургии в храме "Всех святых в земле Русской просиявших" в Бурлингейме.
By the blessing of Archbishop Kirill, on Friday, September 4th, the "Round-the-World" Icon of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos (Pokrov) will arrive at the Cathedral of "Joy of All Who Sorrow" San Francisco, CA.

The Icon will be present at the Cathedral for the Evening Service on Friday, September 4th, on Saturday morning, September 5th for the Divine Liturgy and the All-Night Vigil. On Sunday morning, September 6th, the Icon will be at the Divine Liturgy at the Church of "All Saints Who Shone Forth in the Russian Land" in Burlingame.

On August 27, 2026, on the eve of the Feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos, His Eminence Kyrill, Archbishop of San Francisco and Western America, celebrated the All-Night Vigil at the Holy Virgin Cathedral “Joy of All Who Sorrow” in San Francisco.

His Eminence was concelebrated by the clergy of the Cathedral.

The liturgical hymns were sung by the Cathedral choir under the direction of Vladimir Krasovsky.

2 августа 2026 года, в Неделю 9-ю по Пятидесятнице, в день памяти святого славного пророка Илии, Высокопреосвященнейший Кирилл, архиепископ Сан-Францисский и Западно-Американский, совершил Божественную литургию в кафедральном соборе Пресвятой Богородицы «Всех скорбящих Радость» в Сан-Франциско.

Иерейский чин возглавил ключарь собора, протоиерей Петр Перекрестов.

Богослужебные песнопения исполнил хор кафедрального собора под управлением Владимира Красовского.

По окончании Божественной литургии архиепископ Кирилл поздравил с днем тезоименитства двух своих иподиаконов, носящих имя святого пророка Илии. Владыка пожелал им помощи Божией, крепости духовных и телесных сил и многих благословенных лет служения Святой Церкви. После поздравления им было провозглашено многолетие.

The liturgical hymns were sung by the Cathedral Choir under the direction of Vladimir Krasovsky.

At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, Archbishop Kyrill congratulated two of his subdeacons who bear the name of the Holy Prophet Elijah on their name day. His Eminence wished them God's help, strength of soul and body, and many blessed years of service to the Holy Church. A proclamation of Many Years was then sung in their honor.
