What do we really need church for?

This summer, TCPC begins a new sermon series: Faithful Questions for Faithful Living.

We’ll explore real questions submitted by members of the congregation — questions about trust, prayer, suffering, belonging, disagreement, waiting, and faith.

Week 1: “Why Do We Need Church?”

Because perhaps church is not about having perfect answers…but about learning how to walk together in faith.

Join us Sunday mornings at 10am this summer at Three Chopt Presbyterian Church.

Faith was never meant to be lived alone.

This Sunday we conclude our three-week series, The Beginning of Us, with Jesus sending the disciples out together in Matthew 9:35–10:8.

As we reflect on community, encouragement, and shared ministry, we will consider how God continues shaping us into a people who care for one another and serve together with compassion and hope.

Join us this Sunday at 10am as we celebrate the gift of belonging to Christ—and to one another.

What does it mean to follow Jesus when life feels uncertain, overwhelming, or unfinished?

This Sunday we continue The Beginning of Us with a gentle and hopeful reflection on Matthew 9:9–13, 18–26. Through stories of calling, healing, and trust, we are reminded that Jesus does not wait for perfect people with perfect faith. Christ meets us exactly where we are and invites us to take the next faithful step.

Come as you are as we worship, pray, and continue learning what it means to follow together.

Join us for the Men’s Breakfast on Saturday, May 16 at 9 am at the church. It’s our final breakfast before the summer break, and we’d love for everyone to come – men, women, and youth! Please RSVP to Martin Walker or the church office at [email protected].

Our speaker, Ben King, will share the fascinating history of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. Ben, a Richmond native, bravely served following the events of September 11. He will talk about his experiences as a Psychological Operations Sergeant in Iraq, where he was wounded in combat and honored with the Purple Heart. Currently, Ben serves as the Virginia Department Commander of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, a distinguished organization comprising individuals wounded or killed in action while serving in the US Armed Forces. In this role, he is committed to preserving the legacy of the Purple Heart – America’s oldest military decoration for valor and sacrifice, established by George Washington in 1782. Ben also serves as the Director of Operations at the Virginia War Memorial, where he plays a key role in honoring veterans, sharing their stories, and fostering a deep connection to the true cost of freedom.

We look forward to seeing you there!
