“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest” (Matthew 8-37-38).

Happy Labor Day! Please pray for our priests that labor for their flocks and for our new and returning seminarians - that their harvests will be great.

We also want to take this moment to introduce our new seminarians (from left to right) Charles Wilson, Stephen Palakonda, Michael Moak, and Connor Muha. Charles and Stephen are in the Propaedeutic Program at the Blessed Stanley Rother House of Formation at Mount St. Mary’s in Emmitsburg, MD, and Michael and Connor are in the Propaedeutic Program at Saint John Paul II Seminary in Washington, DC.

Please pray for all our seminarians as they begin their new year of formation.

Seminarians Scott Campolongo and Charlie Tamayo are abroad this summer for Spanish Immersion. They took a break from their studies to visit Blessed Stanley Rother's parish and the room where he died in Santiago Atitlán.

We are excited to announce that in just three short weeks our three transitional deacons, Deacons Andrew Clark, Samuel Hill, and Matthew Kelly, will be ordained to the priesthood!

These photos were taken during Mass following their call to orders. Deacon Samuel received his call to orders while finishing his formation in Rome at Pontifical North American College.

The three deacons will be ordained on June 7th at 10:30 AM in the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Richmond. All are invited to attend.

Please continue to pray for these men, their brother seminarians, and for more men to bravely answer the call of God.

The Vatican asked for deacons and instituted acolytes from the NAC to help with distribution of Holy Communion at the Pope's funeral on Saturday. Our very own Michael Anctil, seminarian for the Catholic Diocese of Richmond was grateful for the opportunity to participate in the funeral in that special way. The Catholic Diocese of Richmond 2025 Chrism Mass at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart was beautiful! After a thorough rehearsal, the seminarians made sure that everything went smoothly. Carlos Gonzalez captured several snapshots throughout the night, including a selfie with the celebrant, Bishop Knestout! On March 20th, Seminarians David Hairston and William Yearout were instituted into the Ministry of Lectors at by the Most Revered James Ruggieri from the Diocese of Portland.

Congratulations, David and William, as you continue your journey to ordination! We are praying for you.
